I published a book. I would really appreciate your support and reviews to help the algorithm. This book would be excellent if you or your customers are on the fence about a high performance renovation. Its realtively short and can be digested in about an hour. In the mid-90s, I started in construction as a labourer. I certainly wasn't thinking about Net Zero homes. Twenty years later, I decided to use my own 1980s Calgary house as an experiment. We added exterior insulation, improved the airtightness, changed the windows and mechanical systems, disconnected the natural gas and added solar. That house eventually became what I call the 20 Horsepower Home. More importantly, it changed the direction of my career. I've spent the last decade learning what works, what doesn't, what costs too much, what homeowners misunderstand, and what happens when we stop treating the furnace, windows, siding, electrical system and solar as completely separate decisions. I finally put those lessons into a book. STOP RENTING YOUR ENERGY This isn't a book telling everyone they need to make their house Net Zero tomorrow. It's about recognizing something much simpler: When you're already replacing a furnace, roof, siding, windows or electrical system, you may be making a decision that will affect that house for the next 20 or 30 years. Don't waste the opportunity. Before you renovate your home, read this book. Paperback and Kindle are now available on Amazon. lnkd.in/gquPE2JV

You know… it might be nice if it got a little warmer in Canada, but what do you think will happen to the world’s richest nation? Rich in clean water, clean soil, lumber, metals. What will happen when other nations systems start to breakdown. Drought, agricultural loss, fire, flooding. Where will they go? It’s time for Canada to be a leader again. We can make change.

I can help with that.
My utilities are half of my mortgage cost per month to put it in perspective. Fire the UCP.

--> But I also want to talk about the thing most people are not talking about, and that is this air pollution gets inside of our buildings. So it's not enough simply to go inside. You need to go inside to a place that has good levels of filtration. The reality is we breathe more outdoor air pollution indoors. That is shocking to most people, but it's the truth.

Amazing. Alberta ships about 4.4 million barrels oil per day. The United Arab Emirates ships 3.1 million a day. They are fantastically wealthy. Alberta and the UCP can’t figure out how to build schools and provide healthcare, and runs a $9.4 billion deficit. Awesome management.

Independent analysis reports that Danielle Smith handed out $2 billion annually in various forms of subsidies to the Oil & Gas industry. Meanwhile... Provincial officials did not respond when asked how many seniors will lose provincial benefits of $328 a month.

10 years ago cities weren’t burning to the ground or getting shredded by hail every two years.Historical smoke hours for Calgary is 12. You can’t see what’s in front of you because you are being fooled by foreign corporate interests slinging propaganda. Ya let’s 2X oil production

Sto Canada is thrilled to have been part of this impressive deep energy retrofit project, which saw a home built in 1895 transformed into a highly modern and sustainable property.
