The government's proposals to strengthen regulation within the cosmetic treatment industry have been widely welcomed as a step towards improving patient safety. For too long, dangerous procedures have been carried out by uninsured and unqualified individuals, sometimes with devastating consequences. Stronger regulation and clearer standards should help protect the public, improve accountability and make it easier for people to identify reputable, properly trained practitioners before undergoing treatment. Claire Stockley, partner in the clinical negligence team at Stephensons, has commented on the proposed reforms and the positive impact they could have on patient safety across the sector.

Baby Loss Awareness Week is an opportunity to remember babies who have died too soon, support bereaved families and help break the silence that can often surround pregnancy and baby loss. At Stephensons, we recognise that baby loss can have a profound and lasting impact on parents, families and friends. Whether through miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal loss or another form of pregnancy loss, every experience is unique and every loss matters. Today many people across the world will take part in the Wave of Light, lighting a candle at 7pm in memory of babies who have died too soon and as a show of support for those affected by loss. 💙🩷 #BabyLossAwarenessWeek #WaveOfLight #BabyLossAwareness
