🚨 IT'S INVOICING DAY. AND WE'VE GOT A QUESTION FOR NZ BUSINESSES. 🇳🇿🎶 Here's something interesting… 90% of our income over the past two months has come from overseas brands using New Zealand music. NINETY PERCENT. So, here's our question: What do international brands understand about NZ music that so many local companies seem to be missing? We'll make it easy for you. 🔥 OUR MUSIC IS WORLD-CLASS. 🔥 IT'S ORIGINAL. 🔥 IT'S DISTINCTIVE. 🔥 AND IT HAS SOMETHING AI-GENERATED SLOP NEVER WILL. SOUL. New Zealand is overflowing with incredible musical talent. Artists creating sounds that are fresh, authentic, emotionally powerful and unlike anything else. And overseas brands are snapping it up. Meanwhile, too many local campaigns are settling for generic, forgettable, cheap-sounding music. COME ON, NEW ZEALAND. WE CAN DO BETTER. 🎯 Here's the thing about advertising… You can have stunning visuals, brilliant copy and a massive media budget. But get the music wrong? Your audience switches off. Get the music RIGHT? People stop. They listen. They feel something. They remember your brand. The right song can MAKE a campaign. The wrong one can BREAK it. And cheap music? Well… let's just say it often sounds exactly like what you paid for. 💥 SO HERE'S OUR CHALLENGE TO NZ BRANDS AND AGENCIES: Before you settle for another generic soundtrack or AI-generated piece of musical wallpaper, GIVE US A SHOT. Send us your brief. Let us pitch you a few tracks. Let us show you what genuinely brilliant local music can do for your campaign. We know the artists. We know the music. And we know how to find that perfect track that takes an ad from ordinary to ABSOLUTELY UNFORGETTABLE. You might be surprised at just how accessible world-class music can be. 🎶 STOP SETTLING FOR SHYTE. START STANDING OUT. 📩 Get in touch through the contact form on our website: 👉 songbroker.nz 📞 Or pick up the phone and give us a call. No hard sell. Just a conversation about how we can make your next campaign sound as good as it looks. If the rest of the world can recognise the value of New Zealand music, surely it's time New Zealand brands did too. LET'S MAKE SOMETHING BRILLIANT. 🇳🇿 #Songbroker #NZMusic #SupportNZMusic #Advertising #CreativeAgencies #MusicLicensing #MusicForAdvertising #NZBrands #HumanMadeMusic #StopTheAISlop

🎶 ALBUM OF THE WEEK: "Outlaw" - Gary Harvey Music 🤠🤠🤠 The Tauranga rocker credits Americana music as his stylistic inspiration and has strong country and blues rock elements in his works. Although, he experiments with a wide range of genres... often stepping out of the box and straying away from convention. After all, Gary's only songwriting rule is that there are no rules! Now that's what you call a true musical outlaw! 🤠😎 🤠Click here to read more about Gary: garyharvey.co.nz/ 🤠If you are interested in licensing any songs from "Outlaw," click here to check it out on our website: search.songbroker.nz/album/7… 🤠We also have an instrumental version available! search.songbroker.nz/album/7… 🤠You can also stream "Outlaw" on Bandcamp: garyharvey.bandcamp.com/albu…

🎶 Trends in music licensing...and the good news! 🎶 It’s hard to ignore the difficult situation many musicians find themselves in today. Streaming royalties make it increasingly difficult to generate a meaningful income. The investment required to make an album can sometimes make absolutely no financial sense. And now, with AI able to churn out any number of cheap, fast-food music options 🤖🍔, it’s understandable to wonder where the industry is heading. Sometimes, you just want to give up. But here’s something I’ve noticed that gives me a lot of hope. ❤️ It took me 25 years to get my first sync. When it finally happened, it was incredibly exciting and the income from that one placement was significantly more than I’d seen from streaming. When you’re a musician, sync income can be the BEST! 💰🎬🎵 Of course, it doesn’t happen every day. Production companies are dealing with shrinking budgets, and clients don’t always want to spend money on music licensing. But here’s the good news… 🌟 Over the last 12 months, all of the international music licensing my company has been involved with has featured music made in the last century. Think about that for a moment. This was music made because people simply wanted to make music. 🎸🥁🎹 These artists weren’t sitting in the studio thinking: “Is this going to work with the algorithm?” “Will this go viral?” “Is this commercially viable?” They made it because it was fun. Because it was art. Because something inside them said: this has to be made. And decades later, people still want it. Why? I believe a big part of it is authenticity. It’s analogue. It’s imperfect. It’s human. ❤️ It was made by people with beating hearts, ideas, personalities, limitations, weirdness, passion and something they wanted to say. And in a world increasingly filled with the artificial, the manufactured and the fake, I believe authenticity and realness are going to become more valuable, not less. So if I could give one piece of advice to an up-and-coming composer or musician, it would be this: 🎵 Make music because you want to. ❤️ Make it because you love it. 🔥 Be authentic. 🙉 Stop worrying about what everybody else is doing. Because ultimately, being genuinely yourself is how you cut through. And even if nothing happens after you release your music – no sync, no playlist, no viral moment – at least you’ll know you made something you’re proud of. And then? Go and make more. 🎶❤️ #MusicLicensing #SyncLicensing #MusicIndustry #IndependentMusic #MusicPublishing #Authenticity #Songwriters #MusicSupervision #SyncMusic #NewZealandMusic
