🚨🗣️: Thierry Henry shares his on take on Viktor Gyokeres performance for Sweden and his situation at Arsenal.
Kate Abdo: "Titi, let’s talk Arsenal. Viktor Gyokeres scores twice mid-week for Sweden against Bosnia, looks full of sharpness, and then finds himself right back on the bench for Mikel Arteta. What do you make of that call?"
Thierry Henry: (Pauses, tilts head, rubs chin before looking directly into the camera)
"Listen. I love Mikel. You all know what I think of Mikel and what he has done for this football club. But... c'mon, man.
When a striker goes away on international duty and puts two in the net—when his confidence is right here [gestures high above his head]—you don't put him in the freezer when he comes back!
As a striker, confidence is a fragile thing. When you see the back of the net bulging, you feel like you can score with your eyes closed. You want to run out there the very next day and do it again. You don't want to sit on a cold bench with a coat on, watching for 70 minutes while your team is struggling to break down a low block.
I understand rotation. I understand tactical tweaks. But sometimes, football is not about your board, your drawing, or your laptop. Football is about momentum. Viktor had the momentum. You play the man who is hot. Simple as that."

This always failed the "smell" test. Now in light of the announcement yesterday, the relationship between Michael Oliver, these officials & Abu Dhabi regime needs further scrutiny.

There is nothing worse in sport than being found guilty of cheating.
Lance Armstrong is a great predictor of how the world will come to look at Man City.
No corporate sponsor outside of Abu Dhabi will touch this brand for a decade.
No kid outside of the families of existing fans will wear the shirt.
The light blue shirt and crest will be synonymous with cheating in the same way as the yellow Livestrong wrist band
Game over.
And good riddance.

For those thinking Man City will get a lenient punishment like Chelsea did, that simply won’t be the case.
The PL convinced an IC Panel that Chelsea (a) did not gain any Sporting Advantage, (b) they were no longer owned/run by the perpetrators, and (c) they were very compliant (even self-reporting).
Man City’s case is the opposite of those 3 factors.
1) They gained a monstrous sporting advantage. Hundreds upon hundreds of millions over PSR limits.
2) They are still owned / run by the people that did it.
3) They have gone to extreme lengths to avoid justice. They hid it all (only an email hack caught them - the rules could not).
They refused to comply with the investigation.
They committed perjury at CAS.
I’ll do a fuller post later tonight but the reality is the punishments will be as serious as they come.
My pinned post says it all.

🚨 INSANE! 🤯
Kai Havertz’s goal against Chelsea was the first time a team scored a goal after EVERY player touched the ball in the buildup this season. ✨

The best CB on the planet plays for Arsenal. Collecting POTY’s like they are nothing. He is so so so clear. Rivals watch with admiration and say “fairs”
Criminally under appreciated due to his reserved nature. Most talented player we had since #14.
Most CB’s dream of his floor

Yeah… this “family club” system is the reason Arsenal will never be ruthless sellers.
At Arsenal, players are the ones who dictate when and where they want to go. They can even decide to run their contracts down without serious consequences.
I’m not saying the “family club” approach is bad, but the club needs to show more ruthlessness if they want to maximise revenue from player sales.
City, Chelsea and other top clubs have made fortunes from selling players to Saudi Arabia and Turkey. Arsenal haven’t.
🚨 EXCL: Gabriel Martinelli camp inform Arsenal winger has no interest in joining Galatasaray. #AFC received €45m bid from Turkish club & open to trading if suitable offers arrive but #Galatasaray not on agenda for 25yo Brazil international @TheAthleticFC nytimes.com/athletic/7510407…

Genuinely, I wouldn’t be shocked if Berta ends up selling Nwaneri to make up for the sales figures set by the club.
The players on Arsenal’s unwanted list are basically unsellable because of the terrible job the former DoF did by handing out astronomical wages.
Jesus hasn’t played any serious football for almost four years, yet he’s earning £290k per week. No top-five European club is going to pay him that kind of wage.
Martinelli has underperformed for three seasons, yet he’s earning £180k per week. No top-five European club is going to match that either. He’s already rejected offers from Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
Nelson earns £120k per week just for existing. Who even wants to sign him? His only suitor is West Ham in the Championship, and they only want him on loan.
Vieira is just there.
Yet the club has set certain sales figures for Berta. Nwaneri could eventually end up being sacrificed to meet those targets.
The MLS being offered to Chelsea and United through intermediaries is related to this too, btw.
Berta is currently being given an impossible job when it comes to player sales.

🚨🗣Zlatan Ibrahimovic on Bukayo Saka's performance against France:
"I have just one question for for England's manager, "Why will you bench saka in a world cup semi final then starts him in a third place match?"
"Tuchel singlehandedly drag England out of the tournament with such decisions, He [Saka] would have done much better than the two wingers that started against Argentina"
