Southern Inks

My artistic tribute to the true #silversurfer #norrinradd despite the drama surrounding what #disney has done in the upcoming #FantasticFour film, the truth is that they missed a huge opportunity to bring this visually & narratively iconic #marvel hero appropriately to the screen

Morning all, busy week, but getting back to illustration work. Thought I’d play around with an older #iceman lineart piece $& see how it came out. Might play around some more, but enough for today. Time to do some work on my yard. #xmen #xmenfanart #Marvel

Got a little inking done today. Summertime fun #iceman is coming along. Bring back the real #xmen #xmenfanart

Working on a little fun illustration to celebrate the #iceman that existed about 12 years ago in the pages of #xmen

Yeah… Temu X-Men. Peter Claffey is the only one I think is right for the role. Hated Sink’s Jean Grey in Brand New Day & the messaging it pushed. The Storm casting is good. I’m in on Inde as Rogue, but the original 5 being a mixed bag & the overall direction that #disney has taken the #xmen in w/Terrorism promoting garbage like #xmen97 & the fact that Sinks Jan Gray is going to be the focus of the film is a lot of Red Flags.

Well, Spooky Season is a lot of fun, but it was nice to get things done around the house today & get some inking done. Finally got back to my #kylerayner #greenlantern illustration. Although I started w/Hal, Kyle was the Green Lantern I read the most of in #JusticeLeague #illustration #ComicArt

Well, both of my girls had a great Halloween, costumes got a little intense this year, but came out great. #HappyHalloween2026 #Halloween #Halloween2026

Ready to hand out some candy HAPPY HALLOWEEN everyone #Halloween2026 #TrickOrTreat #Halloween

Finally finished my daughters #wendigo headdress for #Halloween2026 full shoutout to @SKSProps for the awesome Deer Skull template. #halloweencostume

It’s time… #Halloween

There was a natural progression for Sam in the MCU that fit perfectly w/his character: the heir of Nick Fury. Sam was introduced as a covert rescue operator. That’s his specialty. He was uniquely set up to start a new, cleaner version of Shield & lead the espionage side of the MCU. Forcing him into the Cap role & then making the show nothing but racially preaching garbage that forgives terrorism was not the way to go.

Well, happy Countdown to #Halloween2026 week everyone. Movies on today: #Darkman #talesfromthecrypt Demon Knight & #FridayThe13th Part 4

Only one #captainamerica & that ain’t him.

Morning all. Been taking a bit of an unofficial break to get a lot of projects done & focus on fun with the family, but finally at the Painting step on my daughters Wendigo costume. Hope everyone’s having a great Spooky Season. #Halloween2026 #halloweencostume

Been a busy weekend & work week so far, getting a lot done. But did manage to rewatch the original #Carrie this weekend after a rare miss by Flanagan on his series. Only two bizarre goofy 70’s music cues that bring it down. But it’s still the champ. Haunting, painful, & a tragedy first & foremost.

Happy 18th day of October everyone! It’s Alive! It’s AH-LIVE! Been working on getting this Frankenstein’s monster decoration done over the last couple of weeks. Still need to attach the supports to the back, but, coming along. A little more reflective than I’d like, but had to weather treat it. #halloween2026 #HalloweenDecor #halloweenart

Took my oldest out for the day yesterday and scored at Half Priced Books: Justice League Crisis on Two Earths 2-Disc Bluray & Hulk Vs. Wolverine/Thor dvd both unopened!

Started #Visionquest last night with my oldest girl, she’s been “In” on that side of #marvel since #WandaVision & is absolutely part of the group Agatha All Along was made for (15yo Art Kid), but we were both pleasantly surprised by Vision Quest. Definitely need to see where it’s going, & the #mcu is so far removed from comic accuracy that I’m fine w/this show telling it’s own story: as long as it’s a competent story. & for the folks still defending #lanterns there’s a few key differences here: this show knows it’s a superhero show. We see the title character in his superhero form doing superhero things multiple times in the first two episodes. The show makes use of the characters world & concept to have fun visuals & engaging fights (constructs & light powers ironically) The villain is engaging & an actual villain who is recognized as such. There’s a central mystery that’s fairly obvious based on the trailers but enough questions around it that I’m intrigued. It’s not a “Mystery Box”. Weakest part: Tommy. The actor is… fine. But the character just doesn’t interest me. Best part: Paladin & James Spader. I watched Boston Legal religiously ( ironically Todd Stashwick is in the first ep) just to see Spader do his thing, same w/the 8th season of The Office. I was always a fan of his Ultron & firmly believe that there’s a darker intended cut of Age of Ultron that plays into his menace that Whedon had to recut (based on the tone of the original trailer), so seeing him as a resigned puckish AI devil on Visions shoulder is a lot of fun. Anyway, I’m in for the ride. At this point, I just want a good story & this one is at least trying.
