After nearly 30 years of writing music, I finally released my first full-length concept album.
Contrast is out now.

This single juror said, “No. I’m not letting this woman get off with a fake insanity plea. She is not insane. No.” They argued with him. They thought he was arrogant. They showed him their credentials and expected him to say yes, but he wouldn’t. He just kept saying no.
This is our culture: crazy people who will not listen to no and who demand that the rest of us affirm their craziness. It is a crisis of accountability.
For years and years, parents have accepted excuses from their children instead of telling them no and holding them accountable for their actions. For years, pastors have failed to practice discipline, especially as it relates to women. If they ever got up the guts to say no and the women screamed, they would immediately back down.
Part of reclaiming a sane culture is telling people no. No, you don’t get to do whatever you want. No, you don’t get to escape the consequences. No, you don’t get your way just because you scream louder. No. We need much more no in our culture.

I am convinced that churches need to start forming small groups where they watch and talk about Jonathan Allen Wright’s CCM video series

Hopefully, this will make up for the lack of videos. Recently, I was on Eric from @SowerProject7 podcast to talk about the current issues with the CCM industry. Please check it out!

Is it just me, or has Christian metal/hardcore gone through its own reformed resurgence lately? Been listening to a Spotify playlist curated by @SowerProject7 and have found several solid, biblically explicit Christian metal/hardcore bands on there. Really digging Descriptor.

Got my @SowerProject7 CD and T-shirt today in the mail. Thanks, Eric.
I have found that the older I get, the more effort I put into my health. I’m in better shape than I was in my 20’s and I’m 44 now.
Is this common?
I’ve officially lost over 100 pounds.
It feels a little strange to even type that. I still have more weight to lose, and I’m not finished yet. But I wanted to stop for a moment and be thankful. To God and to all of you.
I’ve done this without weight-loss shots or surgery. I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with those options or criticizing anyone who uses them. This is simply the course I chose and by God’s grace I want to keep going.
Thank you to everyone who has encouraged me along the way. Every comment, compliment, and word of encouragement has meant more than you probably realize.
And a special thank you to Justin at High Calling Fitness. He has taught me so much about nutrition, training, discipline, and how to approach this as a long-term change rather than another temporary diet. And to Jennifer, my daily cheerleader, even through setbacks and failures. I couldn’t do this without you.
100+ pounds down. More to go. I appreciate all the prayers. If you want to know more about how I lost the weight, let me know. I plan to make a video about it soon.
If you download music, this is a must have
Very honored to be a part of @jfreakhideout’s 15th volume of their music sampler compilation… and on their 30th anniversary! Feel very special being featured alongside some cool people I’ve looked up to like Starflyer 59, John Van Deusen, and John James along with some good friends like @SowerProject7, @chasetremaine, and Wind Words. Be sure to go to their website (link in their bio) and give it a download! Happy 30th, JFH!
Great playlist!

Well, @SowerProject7 new album has made it into my top 10 for this year. Biblically solid and musically solid.
I get stuck on one album at a time.
Now I’m hoping it’s Contrast.
