$FLY may have just made the deal of a lifetime.
The roughly $400M in $ASTS shares they’re set to receive could be worth well over $1B a year from now, and potentially $5B over the long term, if my ASTS thesis plays out.
For perspective, Firefly’s entire market cap at yesterday’s close was around $3B.
This market crash may end up being a blessing for them.

Abel has been keeping good company with Jeff Bezos. $ASTS
Amazon broke up with UPS to build its own shipping empire (and why it's a great analogue for ASTS):
💥 The Catalyst: After a 2013 holiday delivery fiasco, Amazon realized relying on third parties was a bottleneck and quietly began building its own logistics. ASTS recently had its own fiasco(s) and is “done waiting”
📈 The Pivot: By 2018, Amazon launched its own network, undercutting UPS/FedEx rates by up to 50%. In ~2-4 years, ASTS will be scaling its own launcher alongside 3rd party capacity. If anything, it will be able to keep everyone honest on price
🏆 The Takeover: By 2024, Amazon’s internal network outgrew them all—delivering 6.3B+ packages annually (more than UPS or FedEx). $ASTS is going after a far larger TAM than they’ve told people about (so far). Their launch requirements are about to far exceed what you’d trust a 3rd party to handle. Study the team and you see the roadmap

$ASTS Must read!🔥 Blue Origin’s reported $140B private valuation shows what investors will pay for the future of space infrastructure.
AST’s opportunity? Commercial broadband + government services + its own planned reusable rocket made by Firefly. 🛰️🚀🇺🇸
Blacklift will give AST greater control over deployment, launch costs and constellation expansion, supporting the recurring revenue business behind it. A necessary hedge that will allow the demand for these satellites a continuous route to orbit.
In my view, that strategic potential deserves a meaningful premium TODAY! The rerating is coming! With more earned as development milestones are delivered.
Execute on the network, scale revenue and make Blacklift operational, and a $100B–$140B valuation becomes a scenario worth discussing.
At the same assumed share count.
💰 $100B = $254/share
💰 $140B = $355.60/share
Management is FIRED UP! 🔥
Abel: “We are done waiting.”
Andy: “AST is inevitable!”
Earnings is Monday, November 9. Blacklift unveiling Thursday, November 12 in NYC. Two opportunities to show investors the scale of what’s coming.
Next week will be electric!⚡️ Bring the vision. Bring the execution. Bring the receipts!💰🇺🇸🚀🛰️

$ASTS: I believe there's more to the Blacklift story than meets the eye.
Building a 20-ton reusable rocket is an incredibly ambitious move.
But Abel Avellan isn't making a small commitment here.
ASTS is investing over $1.3 billion in its partnership with Firefly, securing engine technology, engineering support, and a path toward manufacturing its own engines.
Why make such a massive commitment?
Is it simply about securing launch capacity? Or is there a much bigger long-term strategy behind it?
I don't expect ASTS to become a world-class rocket manufacturer overnight.
But I'm willing to give Abel the benefit of the doubt until management reveals the full picture.
November 9: Earnings.
November 12: Blacklift unveiling.
The next few days could be very important for $ASTS shareholders.
Stay patient. Let's see what Abel has planned.

Clear Street's Nov 6 Research Report for AST following the Blacklift announcment:
🟢"We reiterate our BUY rating and $115 price target"
🟢"Blacklift would complete AST's end-to-end model and cut reliance on Falcon 9 and SpaceX
🟢"ULA's Vulcan targets a return to flight Nov 13th"
🟢"the AST venture is a stronger sovereign option than Starlink or Amazon"
The biggest challenge for AST over the last 12 months has been launch capacity, or the lack thereof.
The rebuilding of the New Glenn pad, a return to launch cadence from ULA, the deal with FireFly for Blacklift, and the fact that some of these upcoming launches can pack up to 8 BlueBirds...all of these developments will break the bottleneck wide open and I am very confident the stock price will respond accordingly, and quite quickly.

$ASTS: 🚨CLEAR STREET REITERATES BUY RATING AND $115 PRICE TARGET
AST Moves Toward Full Integration
Summary
While the market is overly focused on launch bottlenecks, AST's announcement of its own reusable 20-ton rocket, Blacklift, moves it toward full vertical integration and addresses the longer-term concern. Powered by Firefly Aerospace's (NASDAQ: FLY, NC) Miranda and Vira engines, Blacklift targets first flights in late 2028 with up to five BlueBirds per launch. Key points heading into 3Q26 earnings Monday, November 9, after the close:
Full integration: Blacklift would complete AST's end-to-end model
Near-term relief: Watch for AST's 2027E–2028E launch outlook
Sovereignty: Expect updates on sovereign deals as governments seek network control.
Spectrum: Separate from earnings, FCC action on Ligado's pending SkyTerra Next application could come at any time.
We reiterate our Buy rating and $115 price target (20x 2029E adjusted EBITDA of ~$2.1B vs. ~6x at $30 today).
Key Points
Full integration costs ~$1.3B. Blacklift would complete AST's end-to-end model and cut reliance on Falcon 9, with SpaceX (SPCX, Buy) reportedly turning away new bookings beyond 2028 (Bloomberg). The Firefly deal includes ~$800M upfront ($400M cash; 10–14M Class A shares) for a perpetual engine license, $250M for the first three rockets' engines, and $250M for three years of engineering support. That is ~$900M in cash and ~3% dilution, vs. $3.7B in pro forma 2Q26 cash and restricted cash.
Near-term relief depends on two rockets returning. ULA's Vulcan targets a return to flight Friday, November 13, after a nine-month grounding. A successful flight would indirectly help AST by freeing Falcon 9 capacity, though AST has not publicly confirmed Vulcan contracts. A December New Glenn return would restore AST's high-capacity option at up to eight BlueBirds per launch.
Sovereignty is a growing tailwind. Vodafone's (NASDAQ: VOD, NC) Tim Boddy said at Network X in Vienna that the AST venture is a stronger sovereign option than Starlink or Amazon, as its core network and radio infrastructure sit in Europe under the Luxembourg JV deal (Light Reading).
Spectrum is the opportunity the market is missing. AST's Ligado agreement gives it 80+ years of rights to up to 45 MHz (40 MHz of L-band) for $550M at closing, pending FCC approval. SkyTerra Next would put L-band payloads on 96 AST satellites. Iridium (IRDM, Neutral) opposes, alleging spectrum hoarding; Ligado disputes it. At 45 MHz x 340M POPs x $1.10 per MHz-pop (SpaceX paid ~$1.00 for EchoStar's 50 MHz, ~$17B), approval implies up to $16.8B in value, vs. an ~$11.7B market cap at $30.

$ASTS Finally we have a launch plan. Unveiling event is next week November 12th and it doesn’t even cost them a ton of capital up front, overall just 400-500m in cash and the other 400m in stock to Firefly. If they were to go out and try to buy ULA or something like that it would have cost billions.
Nice job by Abel and team. This just significantly raised the margin profile of AST 2 years from now. Analysts will need to adjust their models.

$ASTS - AST SpaceMobile to Build Own 20-Ton Rocket to Deploy BlueBird Satellites in Low Earth Orbit Using Miranda Engines from Firefly Aerospace
AST SpaceMobile, Inc. ("AST SpaceMobile") (NASDAQ: ASTS), the company building the first and only space-based cellular broadband network accessible directly by everyday smartphones, designed for both commercial and government applications, today announced it will build its own 20-ton rocket to deploy its BlueBird satellites in low Earth orbit using Miranda and Vira engines from Firefly Aerospace (NASDAQ: FLY)
he rocket, named Blacklift, will be custom-built by AST SpaceMobile and designed for reusability, enabling up to five BlueBird satellites per launch starting in late 2028. As part of this announcement, AST SpaceMobile has signed an agreement with Firefly to deliver engines for the first three Blacklift rockets, provide engineering services over a three-year period, and will acquire the perpetual license to manufacture the Miranda and vacuum-variant Vira engines. AST SpaceMobile will produce this technology at a new engine manufacturing facility in the United States.
“The Blacklift rocket is the springboard to significantly expand our total addressable market, providing AST SpaceMobile with regular unconstrained access to orbit and providing for most favorable owners’ economics in the industry. This will accelerate our mission to build a new layer of global connectivity, extending connectivity beyond terrestrial networks and helping to bring AI-enabled services wherever people live, work and travel,” said Abel Avellan, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of AST SpaceMobile.
This step completes AST SpaceMobile’s long-held strategy to achieve end-to-end vertical integration. The Blacklift rocket will complement the company’s in-house capability manufacturing the largest phased arrays operating today in low Earth orbit. The custom-built rocket is uniquely designed for simple, mission-specific, repetitive launch to low Earth orbit, using simple, tested fuels and materials and a proven engine architecture with flight heritage and over a decade of development completed.
“This is a bold transformational deal for Firefly, for AST SpaceMobile, and for the space industry," said Jason Kim, CEO of Firefly Aerospace. "When a company sets out to build its own rocket, the engine is the hardest, highest-stakes decision they make, and AST SpaceMobile has chosen to partner with Firefly for its most powerful rocket engines.”
Firefly’s Miranda engine has performed over 175 hot fire tests for more than 4,200 seconds – the equivalent of approximately 20 full first stage flights – and completed a flight-like test at 110% performance of the 230,000 lbf thrust engine. Firefly is one of a few companies in the United States with a proven liquid engine of this scale, making it a scarcity in the industry. Firefly has demonstrated repeated launch success to orbit with its Alpha rocket completed for U.S. Government and defense customers, and the company is the first and only private company to ever successfully land and operate spacecraft on the Moon.
“The Miranda engine will allow us to leapfrog the traditional five-to-ten-year development cycle as we build Blacklift. With this in-house capability, we will be able to better serve our commercial and government customers, across an expanded total addressable market beyond direct-to-device including USG radar, USG secure communications, IoT, federal emergency, AI edge compute and additional funded networks,” said Scott Wisniewski, President of AST SpaceMobile.
Under the terms of the license agreement, AST SpaceMobile will pay approximately $800 million in upfront consideration, comprised of $400 million in cash and 10 to 14 million shares of Class A Common Stock, as determined by a forward VWAP calculation. Under the terms of the supply and services agreement, AST SpaceMobile will pay $250 million for the delivery of engines for its first three rocket launches and $250 million over a three-year period for engineering support services.
The Blacklift announcement supplements AST SpaceMobile’s contracted multi-partner orbital launch strategy. AST SpaceMobile will continue to use external providers, with agreements now covering in total over 100 BlueBird satellites to be deployed cumulatively between 2027 and 2028. The company also has access to further launches for U.S. Government missions alongside its Defense Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS) rated program.
Blacklift Unveiling Event
AST SpaceMobile will host an unveiling event for its Blacklift rocket on Thursday, November 12 in New York City. The company will webcast the event via its Investor Relations website at investors.ast-science.com/

$ASTS is taking control of its biggest long-term bottleneck: access to orbit.
AST SpaceMobile has confirmed a $1.3B+ agreement with $FLY to develop Blacklift, its own reusable, 20-ton-class rocket.
Here’s what we know:
• 27 Miranda and 9 Vira engines for the first 3 rockets
• 9 Miranda booster engines per rocket, implying ~2.07M pounds of thrust, 29% more than Firefly’s Eclipse
• Perpetual manufacturing rights for both engine types
• New U.S. engine manufacturing facility
• Capacity to deploy up to 5 BlueBird satellites per launch
• First launch targeted for late 2028
The deal includes ~$800M upfront, consisting of $400M cash and 10–14M ASTS shares, plus $500M for engine deliveries and engineering support.
ASTS also says its existing launch agreements cover over 100 BlueBird satellites through 2028.
This is a major strategic shift. Instead of relying entirely on SpaceX, Blue Origin and other providers, ASTS wants to manufacture its satellites AND launch them.
If successful, that could mean greater launch independence, more predictable deployment schedules and better long-term economics.
A massive bet on vertical integration.
