Thanks for the coverage of Sparks Brain Preservation! A few clarifications: - We have already preserved 23 people - When people sign up, we have a space for them to specify their revival preferences. This is certainly not limited to whole brain emulation. Many people want revival via molecular nanotechnology, for example as described by Eric Drexler. It's a hugely individual decision and we respect everyone's personal choice - We preserve people following legal death from any cause, not just after medical aid in dying sparksbrain.org/endOfLife.ht… - We would not be involved in the actual process of medical aid in dying ourselves. Those decisions would be made independently of us, in consultation with medical professionals - Unlike most of the other approaches discussed in the article, brain preservation is a service that is actually available today, which relies upon well-established preservation methods that have been used for more than 100+ years. Of course, revival after brain preservation is not yet possible today, and may never be - We perform research to evaluate the quality of our brain preservation procedures under real world conditions, and publish our findings in peer reviewed journals sparksbrain.org/research.htm…

How well can we preserve the brain's neural connections for the long term? Andrew McKenzie reviews the evidence from the best human and animal brain banks (including our own!), which suggests that it is possible to do high-quality brain preservation: youtube.com/watch?v=w7ya3tjl…

Want to understand why you'll need #biostasis if you want true, evidence-based longevity? Read this bmj.com/content/395/bmj-2026… @bryan_johnson should think carefully about this. He should be advocating for biostasis as well as senescence delay. We're doing this book in March in our online Good Foresight Book Group. DM me if you'd like to be added to the invite list.

My new talk on Biostasis, AI, and the Future of Self. Sparks Biostasis is now just $36K. Affordable for most Americans. Would you preserve yourself at death if it was "free" (covered by health care), you believed it would work, and several of your loved ones had done it? Will your Personal AI become an ever more intimate *part of yourself* as you use it, from now till your death? Will your Personal AI want you to preserve your incredible complexity and uniqueness, rather than letting it rot? Will it want you back in the Extraordinary Future, to better remember and improve itself? youtube.com/watch?v=Kposx0Nv…

Discussion on r/bobiverse about whether the books have inspired any readers to sign up for brain preservation. The thread was started by someone who attended our recent Brain Preservation Summit in Oregon! Many do not realize we offer financial aid. reddit.com/r/bobiverse/comme…

What would it take to preserve a human brain well enough for possible revival in the distant future? Borys Wróbel, PhD (@borys_wrob98166) of Nectome discusses the science of long-term brain preservation, including the structural information that future technologies might need to reconstruct a person. youtube.com/watch?v=kstBMyPi…

Can today's brain preservation methods enable revival in the future, once technology has improved? Sparks Brain Preservation founder Jordan Sparks discusses whole brain emulation, the case for aldehyde fixation, and our expansion across the US. youtube.com/watch?v=AB1cWnid…

It was great presenting at the Brain Preservation Summit about all the offerings at @sparkspreserve , a lot of which is new. Our core service is a $36k brain preservation using chemical fixation. We have a financial aid program for people who can't afford that. We also offer whole-body preservation, tissue sample storage, pet preservation, a liquid nitrogen option, and indefinite digital storage. We'll be able to reach 64% of the US population within 6 hours through 4 new facilities we're building, and are also offering international support. Links in reply.

If you’re considering brain preservation with Sparks, there’s a good reason to become a member before Jan 1, 2027. Long-term members receive 20% off preservation services. That lowers the standard brain preservation from $45,000 to $36,000. We’re giving people who join before January 1, 2027 early access to this long-term member benefit. After that, new members will need to wait two years to qualify. Membership is $150/year and membership payments also accrue as credit toward future preservation services. sparksbrain.org/membership.h…

Got back from Brain Preservation Summit 2026.The field's pressing issues seem to be -Test tissue preservation quality via an independent org/adversarial collabs -Spread the idea among the public -Invest in accurate brain simulations to help study what needs preserving It was fun!

The Brain Preservation Summit is just two days away! 😮 For those of you who cannot make it in person (a corporeal existence is overrated anyway), we are happy to let you know that the event will be livestreamed. Here are the links: Day 1 — Saturday, September 19. Livestream: youtube.com/watch?v=CQT4ADZh… Day 2 — Sunday, September 20. Livestream: youtube.com/watch?v=Um-LP24P…

If you're gonna write about the gamble for immortality thing, don't ignore brain preservation as a backup option like Bostrom inexplicably did.

If we genuinely want cryonics to work as a stop-gap between now and a future where disease and age a “curable” then mapping the human connectome is mission critical. In the most practical sense, you are the structure of your brain.
Introducing a complete map of the male fruit fly brain and central nervous system, created in partnership with @HHMIJanelia. With over 166,000 neurons, this is the largest cellular brain map to date. Learn more: goo.gle/4qQTtIW

Brain preservation is a chain: fixation, cryoprotectant loading, microscopy, storage—and proof that the relevant structure survived. @sparkspreserve is bringing those bottlenecks into one room in Salem.
