TL;DR: I don't give a shit if Ember is a guy, a girl, or a babiniku, and the fictional story is irrelevant. My concern is the possibility of knowingly letting women believe you're a woman while privately DMing, VCing, and collaborating with them without being upfront about who you are. Streaming as a female avatar is one thing, potentially misleading women in private interactions where identity can affect trust and boundaries is another. I'm NOT accusing Ember of anything beyond what's actually established, but if documented proof comes out that they deliberately exploited that trust for personal gain, I'll call it out. Until then, show me facts, not speculation.

Well, pretty much in the same fucking spot.
I still think Strawb is 100% a snake, and apparently, she’s been a pretty shitty friend to others as well, putting some of them in very difficult positions for no reason.
I said yesterday that even if it turned out Ember was a guy, IT WOULDN’T CHANGE A DAMN THING FOR ME.
Why? Because I’m not a parasocial retard. That’s why.
I mainly know of Ember through Elite Dangerous as a Fuel Rat, and I’d still have no problem flying with them in game sometime. A lot of Ember’s points, opinions, and stances don’t suddenly become invalid based on what’s swinging between their legs.
The needle doesn’t budge for me.
If anything, kudos to Ember for handling this situation as well as they have so far. And if Ember wants to be a babiniku, cool. That’s their business.
Oh, and I also looked over the synopsis of that old fictional story everyone keeps losing their minds over.

Now, with all that said, I do have one issue with how Ember apparently handled things, and I want to make a very clear distinction here.
I’m NOT talking about streaming.
From what I’ve seen, Ember’s streams were pretty straightforward. I haven’t personally seen evidence of catfishing within that context, and simply presenting as a female character online isn’t inherently wrong.
Where I draw the line is potentially misleading people in private interactions.
Collaborating with other creators, particularly women but also men, having private voice calls, and exchanging DMs introduces a different dynamic if those people are operating under an assumption about your identity that you’ve knowingly encouraged but haven’t been honest about.
And before someone twists my words, I AM NOT ACCUSING EMBER OF SEXUAL MISCONDUCT OR CLAIMING ANYTHING INAPPROPRIATE HAPPENED.
I’m saying that if someone knowingly misrepresents themselves to gain access to private conversations, personal trust, romantic attention, or situations that another person would not have consented to had they known the truth, that’s a legitimate issue.
There’s a difference between playing a character online and deliberately deceiving someone in a personal relationship or private conversations.
That distinction matters to me.
But I’m not going to assume that happened simply because Ember presented as female. Someone’s gender presentation alone is not evidence of manipulation.
If documented evidence comes out showing that Ember deliberately exploited someone’s trust or boundaries, then I will absolutely call that out, and I will give no quarter.
I have standards, and I apply those standards regardless of who the person is.
But I want actual evidence. Not rumors, not assumptions, not selectively cropped screenshots, and not another internet game of telephone.
I hope Ember was completely straightforward during today’s stream and that nothing comes out later showing deliberate deception or misconduct.
Until then, I’m not moving based on speculation.
And none of this suddenly excuses how Strawb handled the situation, either. Two things can be true at once. Ember can deserve legitimate criticism for their own actions, if supported by evidence, while Strawb can still deserve criticism for the timing, methods, and treatment of someone who supported her for a long time. Because end of the day, she made a lucky guess, still nothing backed it up besides Ember on stream saying its true.
One doesn’t magically cancel out the other.
Honestly, this entire situation has been a massive pile of internet bullshit, and it’s another reminder of why I keep people online at arm’s length.

Just not a fan of this constant need for purity testing and counter-signaling people on the "antiwoke" side... especially when it has to meet some kind of religious standard in accordance with one person's interpretation of Christianity.
It happened with the whole "abortion" debate, and now it's whether a right-wing VTuber is male or not.
I honestly don't care.
We need as much unity as possible on this side to push back against the leftists, and we end up with more infighting that opens us up to attacks from the LGBTQ.

You don't get to demand understanding, compassion, and respect for your own past while digging through the past of someone who supported you 100% just to find something to attack.
And if you're going to preach about being Christ-like, perhaps start by showing some of that same grace and compassion to the people who stood beside you when you needed them.
Supporting someone doesn't make them immune to criticism, but if Ember actually wronged Strawb, then SHOW US WHAT SHE DID.
Because from where I'm standing, this looks like someone turning on a loyal supporter who put her own neck on the line for them because Ember failed one of Strawbs Purity tests. and whats funny is Strawb had a more Degenerate past then Ember did miss piss queen.
And that's what makes this so fucking pathetic. Ember stood by Strawb through any of the situation and everything else involving Strawb and Rev, and now Strawb appears perfectly willing to throw Ember under the bus over things that have nothing to do with how Ember treated her.
Think about that. Someone who defended you through controversy after controversy, who stood by you when others wouldn't, and who never once publicly slighted you, is now the person you're going after.
What happened to loyalty? What happened to compassion? What happened to treating others the way you demand to be treated?
Double standards aren't standards. They're hypocrisy. And loyalty apparently means jack shit when it's no longer convenient.
