Looks like my energy sensor generator github.com/Vortitron/energy-…
Is getting superceeded in the new @home_assistant
I was always a little unsure why it didn't do it already!
Next one approved! The WindowsPhone style dash for HA.. github.com/Vortitron/mosaic
We might say 'boff' to this because it's just france and the french are weird... but when this ends up a mess, the politicians involved will probably fail upwards to the EU and try it again there
France's National Assembly has voted in favour of a new "internet tax" that would charge companies for every gigabyte of data they send to users in France. It may get messier than GDPR.

I've been making integrations for HACS for ages, but didn't list any. With this upcoming @home_assistant marketplace thing coming I thought I would... I got one accepted! yay!

For infomentor.. an app some schools use in Sweden.
I'm now blocking on sight anyone that suggests that fridges shouldn't be on the internet.
As per my previous post, they may be accidentally correct, but they mean they shouldn't be connected at all, which is hella dumb

ok so the "wHy arE TheY oN ThE iNternEt" comments by dumb people... have a valid point. They are!

Yes. The hit ICA stores ran outside the chain’s central network, so their industrial refrigeration controllers (Danfoss/Copeland-type OT systems) sat directly internet-reachable for remote contractor access and monitoring. Sweden’s cyber centre had already flagged many such exposed devices that still needed patches or proper isolation. Same weak/default auth or unpatched web interfaces that hit the French stores earlier. Not on a locked-down private network.
This seems a bit negligent given the attacks in France weeks ago!
Does this mean some kortdatum sales in Kvantum, I wonder? :)
BREAKING: 🇸🇪 Swedish grocery giant ICA, one of Sweden's largest supermarket chains, says several of its stores have been hit by a cyberattack overnight, causing refrigerators and freezers to be remotely set to 50°C.
The incident has likely resulted in large quantities of food spoiling. Multiple stores, including ICA Kvantum in Sjöbo and Tomelilla, have reported being affected.
ICA says stores will remain closed during the morning and are expected to reopen at 9:00 a.m. Swedish time.
The company has apologized to customers and says it is working to restore normal operations.
The incident comes amid a wave of cyberattacks targeting businesses recent weeks, following similar incidents reported in France and the United States.
I was thinking this the other day, but here "curtains" is boomer slang. Kids would say something like "Green" and you think it's a good thing, but they mean because emergency exits are green and it's bad... kinda thing.
Another in the 'odd things you learn about american electricity' pile... 600w for a household water heater?!

No, one per tank is the design. It replaces only the lower element and runs steadily at up to 600 W for high mining uptime (>80%), delivering about the same daily heat a typical household uses. The original upper element stays in place as backup for heavy draws or recovery. Heatbit tested it in 4–5 person homes.
2 parcels at the locker waiting for pickup.
If I can remember what I ordered I get to keep them both.
This seems the stupid take of the day that people are proud to spout as if they are smarter.
Yeah, perhaps your home fridge doesn't need Wifi, it's just a nice to have. But in a supermarket? of course they need to connect them, but no, they are not just connecting to the internet
"Smooth Operator" on the telly just now... I only just realised Sade probably didn't mean a well spoken telephone exchange operator.
Nice.. except it came 2mins after I had just topped up!
