Here's what I really dislike about socialists. They are inherently unstable. Let me explain why. Radicals attempt to force their ideology onto the world. But their ideas are not rooted in economic reality. They are not grounded in free will or human nature. They do not care about the consequences of their policies. Before socialists can get power, they have to persuade people that things are so bad that they need to be turned upside down. So, the worse things get for the city, or the state, or the country, the better things get for socialists. The more damage to the economy, the more poverty and unemployment. The more poverty and unemployment, the more government dependents. The more government dependents, the more people are invested in radicals coming to power. And the more radicals come to power, the bigger they grow the government. When radicals get total power, they are forced to use increasingly drastic measures to try to make the world conform to their ideology. When the disastrous consequences inevitably come, they make the excuse that more extreme measures are required. The worse things get, the more power they demand. Then they claim "socialism has never been tried," simply because they have not had totalitarian power that has put them in charge of running the lives of everyone in the world. It's a vicious cycle. And one that ends in misery and poverty and atrocity. Socialists don't just cause damage to the economy, they also try to break the spirit of a country. They don't care that people want agency over their own lives, not to be slaves of the government. We have socialism in America right now. You see it in California. New York. And blue cities in between. But socialists are unable to moderate themselves. They get angrier and angrier when people disagree with them. They get increasingly violent when people resist. They will say anything for power, before doing anything to keep it. That is why there is no real difference between socialism and communism. It's all just a matter of time.
