42-37 at the half in Nacogdoches.
11 different players saw action in the first half and 9 of them scored.
Biggest difference so far is SFA has owned the rebounding battle and leads 28-19 in that category.
Starters tonight for Sam Houston’s exhibition matchup against SFA.
As always with these exhibitions, take the results with a grain of salt. Rotations very likely will not be what they are during the season.

I was given a whistle to referee the @snapbacksports and @BearkatsMBB shoot and it’s the most power I’ve felt in my life. I’m a full-time whistle guy now.

These are Cory's grades, not PFF grades, for the Kats in 2026. Make of them what you will.
The offense has declined rapidly since CUSA play began, and the defense hasn't played well in two of the last three games.

In full transparency, the award-winning producer Cory Hogue was listed as 'out' on the CUSA availability report submitted by @SportsofSHSU and will be unavailable for tonight's podcast.
Unfortunate change of plans. There will not be a podcast tonight as Cory has become progressively ill throughout the day. Apologies for the late notice.

It should be interesting to hear what Cory and @SportsofSHSU have to say about last night's game and the obvious frustration in the locker room live at 6 p.m. tonight on this account, YouTube, and Facebook.

Final: @BearkatsFB 24, NM State 30
The Kats fall at home and move to 1-6 on the year.
The offense broke the TD drought but struggled for the majority of the game once again and totaled 11 rushing yards.
Another tough loss in a season that continues to go the wrong direction.
