Yesterday, a poignant return to St Peter’s Parkstone, to assist with the funeral of my Training Incumbent, Canon Fr Peter Huxham. A holy and righteous priest who helped shaped me for a lifetime of ordained ministry. Thanks be to God, and may light perpetual shine upon him.

This is my new favourite organ piece. The Fantasie Choral no. 1 by Percy Whitlock.
His two substantial Fantasie Chorals were composed in 1931, soon after his arrival at St Stephen’s, Bournemouth.
Beautiful, serene antiphonal writing combined with exquisite climaxes.
