As we get ready to ring out the year we just had (oof), please enjoy a preview of what we did this time last year: youtu.be/IdJ6mpA4MS0
Lovely morning in the tower yesterday. Last service ringing for the year! We had 9 of us, and rang Plain Hunt, called changes, and Grandsire Doubles.
Reminder there's no practice on Tuesday, and instead we're ringing out the old year from 11pm. – at Auckland, New Zealand
Merry Christmas to all! For your Christmas Day viewing, please enjoy this assortment of ringing from last night's services. Wishing everyone a peaceful and restful Christmas 📷📷📷

Amazing (if chaotic) night of ringing tongiht. 21 in the tower, including learners and 4 visitors from around the world! We rang rounds and called changes, Plain Bob Doubles, Minor, and Major; Grandsire Triples; and maybe something else.
Christmas ringing starts this Sunday! 💕
Lovely morning of ringing today. 14 in the tower! We had 8 at 9.15 so actually started on time! Wow! Rang rounds, Plain Bob Doubles & Minor, Reverse Canterbury Doubles, and Grandsire Doubles & Triples.
Lovely evening of ringing tonight. 17 in the tower, including 5 beginners. Rang rounds & called changes, Plain Bob Doubles, Cambridge Surprise Minor, and a plain course of Stedman Triples.
Last night we busy! We had a visiting band from West England who rang a pair of quarter peals (2nd with locals) and 3 extra visitors, plus a contingent of locals! The QPs were Plain Bob Major and Grandsire Triples, and practice was everything from rounds to Yorkshire Surprise 😲
Fab night of bellringing last night. 17 in the tower, including a visitor. We were focused on fundamentals, so did rounds 4 and 6, and Plain Bob and Grandsire Doubles on repeat, including a short burst of Stedman. Visitors are always welcome, although fair warning we'll work you!
We had a great time at our annual tower open day as part of the 2024 Auckland Heritage Festival. Thanks for everyone who came to visit!
For those who missed out, we'll have a limited behind-the-scenes evening tour during the next school holidays.
Today's the day! Auckland's Tallest and Heaviest Musical Culture, our tower open day as part of the 2024 Auckland Heritage Festival starts in a couple of hours.
If there are any visiting ringers, feel free to pop by and say hi!

Yesterday (Sunday) I tolled the tenor at @St_Matts_Bells to mark a death. While not the first time I've done this or filmed it (it is the first time I tolled AND filmed it), this one had quite a personal connection 🖤🖤🖤

Despite the slightly dreary day, we had some joyful ringing! We had 10 this morning including 2 learners, and rang Plain Bob and Grandsire Doubles, called changes 6, and rounds 6 and 8

Sometimes things don't go to plan. We attempted a quarter peal tonight but it didn't come round on either go.
These things happen! Long changes like quarter peals & peals are hard work and rely on noone going wrong and everyone working as a team.
We'll try again in a few weeks!

The recording of last week's quarter peal, with 2x firsts in it (congrats again to Connor and Scott) is now available online! – at Auckland, New Zealand
Lovely evening of ringing. Had 9 incl 2x learners. We rang a bit of Plain Bob and Stedman Doubles and then figured if we were going to ring plenty of Plain Bob Doubles to maybe just do them in a row? Ended up ringing a quarter. 1st to ring for Connor, 1st to conduct for @spil030! – at Auckland, New Zealand
Fabulous evening of ringing, with 14 in the tower (including learners)! We rang rounds and called changes; plain hunt; Plain Bob Doubles, Minor, and Triples; and Matariki Bob Doubles 💕 – at Auckland, New Zealand
