Today on my Air India A350 flight, faced a similar issue wherein remote was stuck.
Called the staff, they immediately contacted ground engineer who came and fixed it. All within 5 mins. Unlike Vietnam Airlines who asked me to use the touch controls after 50 mins of my first request.
We sometimes take it for granted how blessed we are in terms of hospitality by Indian carriers. Only once you fly internationally, you realise the difference in service. This might not be true for all carriers. This is just my humble opinion.
Huge respect to Air India for solving it immediately than asking me to not use it.
Flew with Vietnam Airlines A350 today and the experience was not the best. Remote controller was broken, service was let’s say, very slow. Huge plane, understaffed folks. Tried contacting the crew soon after take off but no one answered. Around an hour later they finally attended to enquire the issue only to ghost me for another hour with the final reply being, we know it’s broken. Just don’t use it 🤷♂️
Imagine the outrage on Twitter if this was Air India.

Embarrassing start to the morning. Someone dressed almost as convincingly as an encalm service staff at the Air India Lounge, with the blue waistcoat and trousers. Only thing missing, the name tag. I was in a rush, so i asked him to place an order for something from the kitchen and got a stare which took me a minute to understand 🙄
Few things to note when you are purchasing a ticket from Air India app:
Note: These are just my suggestions after going through hassles twice.
1)DO NOT use wallet for payment on the Air India app:
Wallet payment usually needs approval. The moment you switch the app, Air India refreshes the session and your booking page will be gone. At the same, once you approve the payment on your wallet, the money is deducted but as per the Air India app, transaction never took place. Wallet says payment approved while other party says payment was never received and you would be stuck. Better to use website for wallet payment.
2)Please contact Air India on X than calling their customer service. The X support is too good. I had paid for a window seat in economy class, then upgraded myself to premium economy. I needed refund for seat selection. Call support denied, saying it’s not in policy, chat support approved it. Verified multiple times with call support
3)Point booking:
If your points are stagnant in family account, Chat support has the best solution. Call support is just not aware of the rules and might mis guide you.
I always use UBER to travel from work. It’s usually around 42km and takes 2hrs for single trip. My average cost is around ₹700 per trip.
Today UBER charged me ₹367 ONLY!
Both me and driver were shocked. The CNG itself costs ₹350. While I should have been happy, something just didn’t feel right. This number didn’t make any sense. For the first time, I willingly paid the driver extra (Around ₹600) and had no regret.
Sometimes we chase discounts but we often forget how it affects the other person. Had I paid 367, no one could have said anything. But that would be so unfair to him.

If you just reached Marriott Gold level, please do not link it with Singapore Airlines immediately. Once you link it, you have 6 months to take 2 flights and get Krisflyer Silver Elite. If you miss that chance, never again can you get status match with the same Marriott account irrespective of what your current Marriott Status is!
I hit Platinum recently but was not able to get Krisflyer status due to exact same reason.

OPPO X9 Ultra seems better product with much better value for money.
With the instant bank discount and exchange bonus and even cash back benefits, there is a discount of almost ₹50k. Seems like stock clearance sale to me.
Someone even got ₹52k for scratched OnePlus 12!! Effective price of X9 Ultra goes under ₹1L.
