Shameful. Auctioning a Nazi-looted religious artifact to the highest bidder cheapens the memory of the victims.
A Nazi celebration in Oslo. Today in Oslo, the auction house "Valkyrie Historical Auctions" is expected to hold an auction of a fragment of a Torah scroll that was looted by German SS soldiers during the Holocaust. It is a parchment sheet from a Torah scroll that was desecrated, looted and defaced by the SS, and was even used as wrapping paper by SS soldiers. At the same time, the Norwegian government is expected to cancel its financial support for visits by Norwegian students to extermination camps. Auctions of sacred texts looted by the Nazis: IN. Visits to extermination camps: OUT. Israel expects the Norwegian government to put an immediate stop to this moral obscenity.

Deeply troubled by the break-in at a synagogue in Paris on Saturday. Every house of worship must be a place of safety and peace. Our thoughts are with the congregation, and we stand with French authorities as they investigate this unacceptable act.

Under President Milei's leadership, Argentina has transformed into a leader for the hemisphere and the world. I congratulate Argentina for becoming the first Latin American country to hold @TheIHRA presidency—and for ensuring it won't be the last. @JMilei @pabloquirno @alejandrito @rramirezlezcano @itobisono
Today, we hosted a historic event at the Embassy of Argentina in Washington, D.C., under Argentina’s 2026 Presidency of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA), reaffirming our country’s unwavering commitment to Holocaust remembrance and the fight against antisemitism. We had the distinct honor of welcoming President Javier Milei, accompanied by Secretary General of the Presidency Karina Milei, to Argentina's home in Washington for the first time. In his remarks, President Milei pledged "zero tolerance for antisemitism," underscoring Argentina's firm commitment to preserving historical memory, defending freedom and democratic values, and standing alongside Israel and the Jewish people. We extend our special gratitude to U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright and Ambassador Rabbi Yehuda Kaploun, U.S. Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism, for their participation and meaningful remarks, reflecting the strength of the partnership between Argentina and the United States in advancing this shared cause. We were also honored to hear remarks from Argentina’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship Pablo Quirno; Marcelo Mindlin, Chair of Argentina’s 2026 IHRA Presidency; and Paraguay’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Rubén Ramírez Lezcano. As Ambassador Oxenford emphasized in his opening remarks, “Argentina has established itself as one of the clearest and strongest voices internationally in the fight against antisemitism.” In a significant diplomatic milestone, Paraguay and the Dominican Republic announced their intention to join the IHRA, reflecting Argentina’s regional leadership and marking an important step toward expanding the Alliance’s presence in Latin America. Today's gathering reaffirmed that Holocaust remembrance must translate into concrete commitments, stronger partnerships, and collective action against antisemitism across our hemisphere. Argentina will continue to stand firmly alongside those who defend freedom, democracy, and human dignity. In the face of antisemitism and hatred, there can be no room for silence, indifference, or neutrality.

I applaud Paraguay for announcing its intention to join @TheIHRA. As antisemitism surges across the hemisphere and around the world, Paraguay is taking a stand in this fight. Thank you to my friend FM @rramirezlezcano for your continued partnership and support of Jewish communities worldwide.

A great colleague.

Congratulations to my friend and colleague @kschnurbein on her appointment as the new Commissioner for Jewish Life in Germany and the Fight Against Antisemitism. I have often called Katharina a rockstar in this fight. While she leaves big shoes to fill at the @EU_Commission, I look forward to working with her in this new role.

Privileged to be joined in Dublin by HE Special Envoy Maqsoud Kruse at the 15th Special Envoys and Coordinators Combatting Antisemitism Forum. Building on the success of the Abraham Accords under @POTUS’s leadership, the UAE’s historic participation in this forum—the first from the region—sends a clear signal that the UAE will continue to lead in this fight. I thank @mofauae for accepting my invitation while in Abu Dhabi, and I look forward to strengthening our shared engagement with this platform moving forward.

During the forum, I urged my European counterparts to follow the lead of @POTUS and @SecRubio by finally fulfilling their international commitments to fight antisemitism. Adopting a national strategy, appointing a designated special envoy, and reporting disaggregated hate crime statistics are all basic benchmarks to protect Jewish communities.

As boycotts, denial of services, delegitimization, and double standards target Jewish communities worldwide, I also asked every government which has endorsed the IHRA Working Definition of Antisemitism whether it is actually living by the definition it has committed to using. The United States will continue to call out the blatant hypocrisy demonstrated by far too many governments in the fight against antisemitism.

We welcome Reggio Emilia Mayor Marco Massari’s reaffirmation that American Jewish educators are welcome in his city, regardless of their identity or beliefs, and his expressed desire to resume the educational exchange. We appreciate the strong cooperation with local law enforcement to help ensure visiting educators can participate safely, free from intimidation or political pressure. I thank our embassy and consulate for working with my office to address this issue.

Yaniv is a real-life hero. After saving countless lives aboard the flydubai flight, Yaniv told me that it was God who gave him the strength. He said he will always pray that good triumphs over evil. On behalf of the American people, I presented Yaniv with a @StateDept prayer book, kippah, and coin honoring America’s 250th birthday.

The charge of genocide is fueling antisemitism. As malicious actors weaponize the term and endanger Jews everywhere, meticulous use of the charge is essential. Read more by Chairman Jeffrey Miller (@JeffMillerCA2TX) and Amb. Eizenstat. (@EizenstatStuart). foxnews.com/opinion/weaponiz…

Disgusting and shameful to use October 7th as an excuse to repeat Hamas’ talking points. The terrorist enemies that seek to destroy us will not prevail. We stand with the Jewish people and we pray for the victims, their families and the survivors.
This day is profoundly painful for so many New Yorkers. It marks three years since the horrific war crimes of October 7. On that day, Hamas killed more than 1,100 Israelis and abducted 251 others. We grieve alongside our many friends and neighbors who still carry that unthinkable loss. The suffering did not begin nor end that day. It instead continued through the Israeli government’s devastating, ongoing genocide in Gaza, in which it has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians—including more than 21,000 children. Even since the so-called ceasefire, more than 1,400 Palestinians have been killed. That suffering has intensified with every Israeli bomb dropped on ambulances waiting outside hospitals, every drone strike targeting a residential building or journalist, and every shipment of food aid turned away at a border crossing. Many New Yorkers are reckoning with this unbearable grief, and we mourn alongside them – all while knowing that our tax dollars fund these war crimes. Three years later, we must refuse to accept a world in which occupation and apartheid continue, where war crimes are met with impunity, and our federal government continues its complicity with every arms shipment. To honor the dead, we must fight for a world in which every person can live with freedom, safety, and dignity.
