I think about you more than you probably realize. Sometimes it's a passing thought. Sometimes it's a memory. Sometimes it's me wondering what you're doing or wishing I could tell you something in person instead of through a screen. And sometimes it's just this quiet feeling of gratitude that you exist in my life at all. Because out of all the people I could have met, somehow I met you. And now you're the person I want to tell things to. The person I want beside me when something good happens. The person I want to hear from when my day has been difficult. I don't need some complicated explanation for why I feel this way. I just know that when I picture the person I want to keep sharing my life with, my mind doesn't have to search very far. It already knows who it's looking for

Maybe I am a little selfish when it comes to you. I want your attention. I want your messages. I want those random little conversations that somehow make my whole mood better. I want to hear about your day, even when nothing interesting happened. I want to know what's on your mind, what you're thinking about, what made you smile, and what bothered you. And maybe I want more of your time than I should sometimes, but it's only because being around you feels different. You have this way of making ordinary moments feel like something I'll want to remember. I don't want perfection from you. I don't need some impossible version of love where everything is always easy. I just want something real. I want us to keep learning each other, laughing together, being honest when something hurts, and finding our way back to each other when life gets complicated. So yes, maybe I'm selfish. Because if I get to choose who I want beside me through all the random, beautiful, messy parts of life, I'm going to choose you.
