ALT The book cover for The Broposal by Sonora Reyes. A Brown guy wearing a white muscle tank and yellow basketball shorts is on one knee, offering a sparkling ring to another guy wearing ripped jeans and a loose sweater. The second guy has black wavy hair and glasses, and stands with a hand over his mouth. Both of them are crossing their fingers behind their backs. The background is the living room of their apartment. There is a pizza box and video game controller on the couch behind them, weights and a tennis ball on the floor, and a brown labrador retriever watching the fake proposal. There is also a cactus succulent on a table in the foreground. The succulent is dressed in a top hat and a monocle. below the cover there is test that reads: You're invited: January 21, 2025
ALT A publisher deal announcement reading: "Jessica Garrison at Dial has acquired, at auction, author-illustrator Jerrold Connors's debut picture book, JIM! Six True Stories About One Great Artist, a biographical retelling of the life and work of James Marshall, famous for his picture books Miss Nelson Is Missing! and George and Martha, among many others. Created in Marshall's own irreverent style of art and storytelling, the biography celebrates in both form and content what made James Marshall so talented, funny, and special. Ammi-Joan Paquette at Erin Murphy Literary Agency brokered the deal for world rights, with publication set for summer 2025." Above the text is the author's headshot (a man with glasses stands in a grassy area next to some wetlands at sunset). Next to the photo is a cartoon drawing of a fox, a bulldog, and a pig running away gleefully from the author. They have a cartoon mustache on his face.
