Not one adaptation has ever cast the Carrie from the book.
King wrote her as a chunky girl with pimples and limp, colorless hair. She was the kid nobody wanted to look at.
Every version since then picked a slim, pretty actress and just gave her messy hair.
That's half the story gone. The bullying hits different when she actually looks like the girl everyone picked on.
