Yes, Hammers fans... new boss Julen Lopetegui has actually seen Danny Dyer's message ahead of the new season, AND he's issued a response ⚒️👀

I don't believe in venture studios
@naval sums it up perfectly here that the scarce resource in startups isn't ideas or capital which is what venture studios provide
its entrepreneurs who are motivated to slog through the idea maze to solve a problem they're obsessed with
importantly, an idea that isn't yours is inherently less motivating than an idea that is
the best entrepreneurs aren't mercenaries like this, so they almost never do venture studios

The wisdom of @joerogan: “When you’re young, find something you enjoy and try to get good at it… When you get good, it will a) give you confidence and b) show you the direct correlation between hard work and success” youtu.be/9w6vbJnwL7c
This is a good takeaway. Startups often try to “scale” before they make it work without the scale.

3. Do direct sales
The key to restarting growth after I went all in was direct sales. As a content marketer, I was only interested in scalable growth channels. I was so wrong!
Do things that don’t scale, because that enables the channels that do scale.

Not sure the basis of this, but if this happened, would be the greatest business/product turnaround of all time.

This last two years could see a whole cohort of people quit investing.
Imagine buying stocks for the first time in 2020. Everything’s up. Fresh SPACs and IPOs weekly. Crypto. Growth hype.
Now you’re sitting on Coinbase stock that went from $86b to $8b in less than a year. 😢
Pretty sad, because research/data shows that if you have success (or not) with your first few investments it shapes your view of the investment class.
I.e. if you invest in stocks and they go down for a year, you’re likely to dismiss stocks for the rest of your lifetime.
Just using Coinbase as an example. Could have been any other growth company, their charts all look the same.

I asked OpenAI to write a letter to my son explaining that Santa isn’t real and we make up stories out of love. This is making me slightly emotional 🥹
AI finally delivering on its promise?
Optimistic take: Augmenting humans to make them better/more productive.

New sperm meta-analysis. Big takeaways:
• Sperm reduction is not localized, happening globally
• 50% reduction in avg sperm count since 1973
• Following this trend, the average man will not be able to have children unassisted by 2050

Seems like we are going to see a bunch of these stories come out: person gets rich > risks their riches to get more rich > loses their riches

Seems like the “AI will change everything” wave is finally here.
Hearings lots of cool applications in the creative space. What are other applications that seem promising right now?
