Public prosecutor Chel Diokno objects to defense lawyer Kristine Ferrer’s line of questioning to forensic analyst Atty. Alex Cabrera on Monday.
“Even if you focused your entire career in taxation and only devoted about a year in external audit as a tax staff accountant, you still consider yourself as a forensic accounting expert,” Ferrer asked.
“That’s right po,” the witness replied.
“Objection, your honor,” Diokno interjected.
“Already answered, your honor,” Ferrer replied.
“Your honor, already answered is not an excuse for the objection to be made. That’s very clear in Section 39,” the public prosecutor said.
Presiding officer Chiz Escudero asked Diokno the ground of his objection.
“That’s why I’m asking the question to be repeated because if I recall the question, good counsel here misled the testimony or misdeclared the testimony of the witness last week,” Diokno replied.
“So your ground is that it’s misleading?” Escudero asked.
“Yes, but I would like, your honor, please, that the question be repeated so that I can make it clear which part is objectionable,” Diokno continued.
“Quick reply, your honor, we believe that the witness is an intelligent witness and he fully understood and in fact responded to the question,” Ferrer responded.

Senator-judge Risa Hontiveros asked Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) Executive Director Atty. Ronel Buenaventura whether the agency had investigated the links among companies that transferred funds to Cale88.

Senator-judge Pia Cayetano expressed that she is “pressured,” recounting the situation of some of her fellow senators.
“I can only speak for what I observed. We have two senators in jail, if the one senator would be allowed to come here I know Senator Estrada would like to speak on how he felt pressured. Another senator is in hiding because he was threatened na maglalabas ng ICC warrant pero pagkakaalam ko hindi pa niya nakita ‘yung ICC warrant,” she said on Wednesday.
“And then a fourth senator is on medical leave but she also was told na ma-fi-filehan siya ng plunder cases. Then I speak for myself, I went to Singapore to support a national team. And then I have to hear NBI director making statements that make it appear that I’m a common fugitive na na-monitor niya kung nasaan ako, at meron siyang information kung anong araw ako babalik,” she continued.
“Am I fugitive? Bakit may ganito? I will tell you all now, am I pressured? I am! I am! I fear for my liberty,” Cayetano added.
