German industry-bought media vs the truth
I'm German, so let me explain, how the entire Germany vs. Elon and Trump situation works here: In Germany German car companies are way more powerful than literally anything else. They absolutely control everything, they want to control here. They also are the reason why German engineered trains work perfectly well and on time in Japan and other countries, but don't at all in Germany. They also control the German media regarding Elon Musk. So Germans actually believe, that Mercedes' FSD is way better than Tesla's and that everything Elon does is not save and that he treats all his employees like horseshit, silencing employees who got hurt and so on. So basically everyone here absolutely hates Elon Musk, because we get provided good reason to do so all the time. Everything negative that can be found about Musk will be shoved and amplified through German Media. As we know, the guy does hundreds of X posts every week. So at least 5 of those every week aren't entirely thought through or phrased in a way that cannot be misunderstood by people who intend to misunderstand him. Similar thing with Trump. Very easy to misunderstand him, if you want to. And then Elon also hypes up AFD. Which is proofen to be an extremist right wing party. Even many Germans don't understand, why AFD is a no go, so I forgive Elon Musk for being stubborn in that regard. AFD got good Media training and says nice things that many believe, but are strait out lies to gain power for the most part. The AFD basically is a Trojan horse back to Hitler's way. So it's very understandable, that everyone who doesn't like the AFD, absolutely despises Elon Musk for praising it. And the US media then pushing the Nazi salute narrative, even tho it was just fake election propaganda, didn't help, obviously. Anyway, German car companies also didn't start investing into electric, before they got the German government to finance a lot of it in many many ways. So there was just never another way than at least Mercedes going first, before Tesla is even getting a chance at full self driving. Car companies first, Germany second, that's the German way. Just not Tesla, even tho they manufacture in Germany, too. Our car companies are basically our non violent mafia. Their influence is unbelievably massive and they won't let come anything near them. You can't even imagine the level at which they control the German narrative. It's insane. And the main reason I drive the only German produced car that's not German. A Tesla. And try to consume very little German news. We think we have free press, but no country really does. It's controlled, just not by the state. German media also very rarely lies. But it's very good at showing just one side of something and phrasing thing in a suggestive way. So nearly everything being said about Elon is actually true. We just don't see the good side as well. He never gets any praise for anything really. And if the have to because it's big news, it's usually very short and overshadowed by something else.

Revolut services are back online after yesterday’s outage.
The disruption began shortly after 7am BST on 20 Oct, when a power event hit Google Cloud’s London region (europe-west2-b). Failures interrupted services for hours. Most Google Cloud issues were mitigated by early afternoon; Revolut later confirmed the issue was fixed and services restored. Customer money and data remained safe throughout.
The impact was significant. Revolut has about 70m customers in Europe, and it seems most were affected. Reports came from the UK, Ireland, France, Spain and elsewhere. Card payments, transfers, ATMs, currency exchange and app access were affected. Revolut Business (850k+ companies) was also disrupted, hitting payments and operations.
Lloyds Banking Group, HSBC, Halifax, UK courts, Rightmove, DPD, and others also reported problems. Customers described abandoned purchases at tills and petrol stations, couldn't pay for travel, and businesses couldn't process payments.
This was a clear concentration-risk event. One cloud zone became a single point of failure for critical payment and banking services used by millions. The UK's FCA said it was engaging with Google and affected firms. The PRA and Bank of England were also reported to be in contact under the critical third-party regime (Google Cloud was designated in July 2026).
Revolut had previously signalled plans to move to multi-cloud by adding Amazon Web Services (AWS), with a roadmap to 2027. The outage indicates those measures were not yet sufficiently in place for core European operations. Some rivals, such as Monzo, were not widely reported as affected.
Google will investigate and publish a fuller report on the power event. That will clarify the technical details, but not the strategic questions: how quickly firms can reduce single-cloud and single-region dependence, and whether workable contingencies are actually ready. An event at one data centre near London was enough to disrupt millions of people and significant commercial activity.

Think about it:
- it’s a driver
- it’s a dashcam
- it’s a climate control operator
- it’s a valet
- …

Denmark 🇩🇰 is another happy addition to the worldwide fleet of pedestrian safe vehicles with Tesla FSD Supervised.
The time has come to show that Ireland 🇮🇪☘️ can also be a leader in technological leaps, c’mon @Dept_Transport you could at least give as an update, or a reason why you’re not trying to recognize Dutch RDWs approval of the system.

So first day with FSD in Denmark is coming to an end.
Total FSD is 221km and about 100 meter manual due to parking.
Impression: Really impressive how good it drives, both in København and Roskilde 👏
Even in heavy rain it just works.
And the nag is real 😅 so how are people to use their phones when the system really watches you in a good way 😜

I organized an intervention to stop Elon from starting SpaceX. Here is the story...
Twenty five years ago, Elon and I sat in a car on a dark stretch of Long Island highway, two neurodiverse geeks staring at the night sky and wondering what came next. We had both experienced substantial exits and felt the weight of possibility ahead of us.
When I joked about 'space' while gazing upward, neither of us imagined we were planting the seed for what would become the largest IPO in history. We spent the next two hours debating why space was so hard. In the end, rockets are fuel and metal. We also debated where to go, and it was crystal clear that Mars was the only real destination.
Upon returning to NYC, we embarked on a global tour of space, meeting space agencies and luminaries worldwide. This opened our eyes to an industry stuck in bureaucratic thinking. If things continued at that pace, it was clear that we would never explore space in our lifetime.
So, we launched Life to Mars to show the world that two ambitious young men (29 and 30 years old), could send life to Mars without any government backing or support. We planned to send and grow plants on Mars, though some were pushing us to send mice.
We had a $50 MM budget that rested on our purchase of two Russian ICBMs for $7 MM each. We assumed one ICBM would fail, and we would learn and fix everything before launching again. When Elon went back to actually buy the ICBMs, the Russians tripled the price, bringing out launch costs from a total of $14 MM to $42 MM.
Our ambitious Life to Mars plan was no longer viable.
As you might imagine, Elon was not pleased. So, he decided to start SpaceX and create his own Mars rockets. Now, this is a crazy idea, both now and at the time, so I organized a large panel of top space experts, and we ambushed him at the Georgian Hotel one morning. It was set up like an intervention for an alcoholic, but for space.
Elon looked me in the eye when leaving the room and said, "I am going to do this." The intervention failed. Elon was committed. The rest is history.
I am excited to see this IPO after 25 years of hard work. What SpaceX has done is a testament to human will and overcoming insurmountable obstacles. It's nothing short of amazing.

Now they're trying to pass an even more far reaching ChatControl law through the back door, in a form even more intrusive than the originally rejected plan, without needing any of the EU countries votes
The new proposal:
- total mandatory surveillance of ALL text chats, emails and social media in the EU
- obligatory registration of your ID/passport to your chat, email or social media account
- minimum age requirement for chat, email and social media apps of 16 (!)
The only way to stop this law is if EU countries veto it

Together with RDW, we have officially completed the final vehicle testing phase for Full Self-Driving (Supervised) and have submitted all documentation required for the UN R-171 approval + Article 39 exemptions. The RDW team is now reviewing the documentation and test results package internally. They have communicated the expected approval for Netherlands date of 4/10, shifting from 3/20 previously and we look forward to successful completion of this cooperation.
Following the Netherlands’ approval, European countries will be able to recognize this approval nationally. We are anticipating a possible EU-wide approval during the summer.
Over the past 18 months, this approval has involved a series of intense documentation, development, testing, research & audits. Including but certainly not limited to:
– 1,600,000+ km of FSD (Supervised) testing on EU roads
– 13,000+ customer sales ride-alongs
– 4,500+ track test scenario executions
– Thousands of pages of written documentation for 400+ compliance requirements
– Dozens of research studies into safety performance/results
We're extremely proud of the work conducted with the RDW team up until this point.
We very much look forward to the approval in April, and sharing FSD (Supervised) with our patient EU customers!
