Beautiful ride to work. Take time to appreciate the island and bailiwick in which we live. #guernsey #herm #bailiwickofguernsey #beautifulislands

So States vote through GST, next the vote down fiscal restraint. Now the publish 2 budgets. A) per mandate a saving of 1% or B) what committees have asked for. Lets guess which they will vote for. #taxandspend @Lindsay_Gsy @drandysloan

Good piece in @GuernseyPress by @oldfarmhorace. I’d go 1 step further. States resolved committees will save 1% and keep to inflation. All @Lindsay_Gsy & P&R need to do is add inflation to last year's costs, minus 1%, and let committees prioritise.

Front page headline by @GuernseyPress. Where's the evidence. Why would any reasonable person prefer to pay extra 2% on everything they earn rather than 3% on only the money they spend. Another hit on the working rather than spreading the tax to everyone.

@andrew_niles you've got to stop this attack on the working. No-one wants new taxes, but if the demonstrated that the island needs to raise more. After fiscal restraint, control of States pay and waste. The tax must be equitable, not just the working. Everyone!

Fresh paint at the top of these steps β€” but it's on the back of the tread, not the nosing. For visually impaired pedestrians that's not a warning, it's a trap. States of Guernsey should know better. #AccessibilityFail #Guernsey

So first read, keeping the extg dimensions thus reducing the work is resulting in a delay. #OnlyTheStates

Disappointed by the mindless vandalism to Autism Guernsey’s gazebos at North Showβ€”funded by the Saffery Walk to offer a safe space. πŸ’”

What's the point of mirrors?! A white #Ford Kuga nearly took me out cutting across my lane coming off of Northbeach. Luckily I ride defensively! Time to reinstate the #loudpipessavelives

As a St Sampson Douzenier, @Lindsay_Gsy quoted comments about the Bridge area gives me no comfort that the States have the will or desire to bring forward the long overdue improvements to the Bridge. Feeling again that this States will let down parishioners of St Sampson.

I know I'm old, but when did it become acceptable for parents to use a ferry as a creche, let their children run around screaming and disturbing other passengers, while the parents sat somewhere separate. I feel for the @IslandsUnlimit crew who have to clear up the mess

Reducing the rate by 40% doesn't reduce the cost to collect. It just makes it less efficient to administer.
