Security Reminder: Stay Alert to Scams as Withdrawals Resume Withdrawals are resuming in phases and opportunistic scammers may try to take advantage of this period. They may impersonate Binance through DMs, emails, group chats and even small transfers with a message attached, offering to "speed up withdrawals," give "priority processing," help you "claim compensation," or move your assets into a "Binance vault". Please remember that Binance will never: • Contact you first about your account or funds • Offer or sell you a place in the withdrawal queue • Charge a fee to unlock a network or asset • Ask you to connect a wallet, sign, authorize anything, or transfer funds to "unlock" a withdrawal • Ask you to move your assets into a "vault", "safe account", "secured wallet" or any address provided by someone else • Send you an "eligibility", "status" or "compensation claim" link • Ask for your password, 2FA codes or seed phrase • Point you to a unofficial PoR site • Offer paid "asset recovery" services Once you connect, sign, or authorize a request, third parties can move your assets — and on-chain transactions are usually irreversible. If your withdrawal is still pending, check its status in the Binance app. Anyone promising to expedite it for a fee is scamming you. Only use the official Binance app and official channels for updates. Binance hourly deposits EXCEED withdrawals. 👀 According to public reports, only 6-10% of withdrawals went to other CEX. Majority went to self-custody wallets, and have not interacted with a DEX yet. Stay safe. 🙏

Binance has begun recovering affected assets for users and continues to work with law enforcement, issuers, blockchain intelligence firms and industry partners to trace, freeze and recover additional funds. The company has already publicly committed to cover losses through company funds in the prior announcement. Binance has already reserved over $6.34B of company funds to cover this incident. $5B of these funds are already held in the exact token assets that were impacted. We are completing the purchase of the remaining amount by buying token assets through market channels and OTC channels. We are doing this to match the format of the remaining token assets and address any asset shortfalls. This step can take longer because some tokens may have low liquidity and OTC settlement also takes time. We will share more progress as soon as we can. These figures do not include frozen or protected assets, which remain subject to ongoing recovery and verification. Currently, $3bn has been frozen, with thanks to our industry partners. We are working with partners and law enforcement to recover the frozen assets.We will continue to use company resources to cover confirmed shortfall and will provide further verified updates as recovery efforts progress. Ultimately, all user funds will be verified publicly through our Proof of Reserves. We will weather this storm. Thank you for the support.

Leaked exchange data (names, emails, phone numbers, addresses, ID documents, transaction history) is mostly used for phishing, SIM swapping, and social engineering. Reduce info you share - Use a unique email alias for each exchange (SimpleLogin, Apple Hide My Email, etc). A leak then can't be linked to your other accounts, and you can spot which service leaked. - Share only what's required. Don't add optional profile details. - Use a dedicated phone number (a VoIP or secondary SIM) for exchange accounts if you can, since leaked numbers are the main route to SIM swaps. Lock down the account - Use a unique, long password from a password manager. - Turn on hardware security keys (YubiKey) or passkeys, or at least an authenticator app. - Avoid SMS 2FA. - Enable withdrawal address whitelisting and a withdrawal time lock if the exchange offers them. - Set up an anti-phishing code, which puts a code you choose in every legitimate email from the exchange. - Review active sessions and API keys regularly. Delete any API keys you don't use. - Restrict API keys to withdraw-disabled and IP-whitelisted. Defend against - SIM swapping: Ask your carrier to add a port-out PIN or number lock. - Phishing and impersonation: Assume anyone who contacts you about your account, "security issues," or "refund recovery" is a scammer, even if they know your name, balance, or recent trades. - Exchange support staff don't ask for your password, 2FA codes, or seed phrase. - Never click links in emails or texts. Go to the site yourself. - "Wrench attacks": Leaked addresses plus holdings data have led to real-world extortion and robberies. Don't publicize your holdings, and keep large balances out of anything tied to your home address if you can. If a breach is announced 1. Change the exchange password and any other account that reused it. 2. Check haveibeenpwned.com for your email address. 3. Revoke API keys and active sessions. 4. Review recent withdrawals and security settings. 5. Watch for phishing emails and texts that reference the breach, because scammers move fast after one. Stay SAFU! 🙏
