Here are the games I've beaten in 2025. I've never bothered making a list on Twitter because I'll probably forget about it. But we'll see.

Attention all moots If you'd like to be in my next playthrough of FF8, I'm looking to name the GF after friends on here. Please reply to this post, or DM me with which GF you'd like named after you. You can also choose Angelo or Griever. So far, @FinalFan is Diablos

I've done it! (No I'm not a summoner) I've decided on an idea for my next FF8 playthrough. I've got a month and a half to work out the details (for my annual FF8 anniversary playthrough). It might be a dud, who knows? I'll find out once I'm playing, that's the fun part!

My favourite use of the classic FF battle baseline occurs in a game you may not suspect, FF8 (but come on its me!). After FF7 ditched it, FF8 goes the entire game without it, too. Or it does right up until the last stage of the final boss. youtu.be/WFjHWw_w91Q?is=IkkV…

It takes 1 minute and 39 seconds for the eerie intro to set the stage for the triumphant return of that familiar dun dun dun dun baseline. The first FF game since FF1 to involve time travel, it's also the first final boss to use that baseline since the first game. A nice homage!

It's the perfect start to the perfect end of the perfect game (well I would say that).

I'm regretting my decision to work this Saturday. But I can make the most of it. Hit up some game shops on the way home and also buy some paper...cos I'm going to draw some maps for an old-ass Spectrum game, and write some notes like the old days 😂 When life gives you lemons

Somewhere between 4 and 5 years of data on what video game music I listen to. Is this indicative of my top 10 video game composers? Perhaps slightly, but it could just mean I have more music from these guys.

I'm a big tough man*, and all that**, but I can't handle how cute this is, lol. *I'm not tough ** I'm not all that, I'm only a very small amount of that

With the news of potential Breath of Fire re-releases, here is my humble little BoF collection. Forgive my 90s "sexy CGI Nina" BoF III cover, lol. I've atoned for it with the PSP cover. Wonderful series of games, I'll buy a new collection in a heartbeat.

I think this is my favourite new JRPG of the 2020s. Two playthroughs done and I often feel like doing another.

Before I go to bed, here is my Twitter circle thing that people are doing. If you are on here, I probably annoyed you with some FF8 talk recently 😅.

If I didn't annoy you with some FF8 talk, feel free to hit me up and request that I say something about FF8.

Here are my GBA Final Fantasy games. Yes I know that's a Mana game but it has a historical tie to Final Fantasy and I wanted a 6th game, lol. Also my 2 GBAs that I played all these on (as well as the DS and GBA player (not shown here, maybe another time). Also a 7800 just cos.

Don't you just hate the price stickers that shops used to use. They got better over time, but I remember some were basically fused to the boxes. That fate befell my copy of FF6, as well as many other games bought around that time from some shops.

The astute among you may notice a mix of US and EU games. That's because handhelds like the GBA were region-free. Some shops would sometimes get copies in from the US as games often launched earlier there.

Nodes of Yesod, 1985 (ZX Spectrum version) I've become increasingly interested in this game these past few days. Tried it on a whim and it's something I'd have been obsessed when I first started playing games. I feel like getting some paper and drawing some maps.

Its all about exploring and finding the right bunch of crystals scattered around the map but there are several mechanics I enjoy. Not least the fact that you join up with a little moon mole who can kill enemies and find secret passages, lol. Of course it's got some jank, but 🤷‍♂️.

In this day and age, some might call it a Metroidvania. But it's really just a platform game about exploring, finding objects, and getting lost while dying and retrying, lol. There were loads of these, especially after Ultimate (Rare) had hits like Sabrewulf and Underwurld.

I love translating little bits of fictional languages in games. One that sticks in my memory is from Jak II. Here and there you can see Precursor words (fictional language). Most instances in the game are functional, but these are various messages in memory of a dog.
The shelves are trickier 1st- I assume it's The Legend of Aifread. But they sure do spell his name differently lol 2nd-Craymel Engineering for Beginners 3rd-Eternal Friend Nohkos. Who is Nohkos? idk 4th-The Distant World 5th-The Parade to Peace

That dog was the "Naughty Dog" that the company is named after (Jason Rubin's pet). A dog named Morgan that appeared occasionally as a mascot. Anyway, it's a touching little secret. FFX also has fictional languages. Al Bhed being the main one. And of course Tales of Eternia!
