On National First Responders Day, I want to thank the brave men and women who put their lives on the line every day to protect our communities. As the son of a retired Philadelphia Deputy Fire Chief, I understand the sacrifices first responders and their families make to keep our communities safe.
Growing up, he always checked our smoke detectors. Be sure to make my Chief Picozzi happy and comment below that you checked yours!
October is also Fire Prevention Month, so here's my ask: check your smoke detectors this weekend. Test them, change the batteries, and make sure the older neighbors on your block have working ones too.

It was about harvesting headlines.
Brad Lander’s latest stunt is nothing more than a calculated political provocation.
Lander traveled to a foreign country, deliberately entered a restricted security area, and participated in an unauthorized activity without the required coordination.
What makes this stunt even more outrageous is that his own team contacted Israeli representatives in the United States ahead of his visit and was explicitly informed that proper coordination with the relevant authorities was required.
He chose to ignore those instructions.
At a time of heightened security tensions, Israeli security forces have a responsibility to protect lives, prevent dangerous incidents, and maintain public order.
Had anyone been injured as a result of his reckless political theater, Lander would undoubtedly have been among the first to demand that Israeli authorities intervene and provide protection.
Brad Lander came looking for a confrontation. Now he is pretending to be its victim.

It’s funny seeing Knicks fans slowly realize that nobody cares about their Championship. It changed nothing. Nobody outside NYC has Brunson top 5. Nobody has him in any all-time talks. Nobody has him in “best of his generation” talks with Jokic SGA Giannis or Embiid. And everybody already knows he’s not winning another one so he’ll never make it to those talks.
He doesn’t have the motion/too ugly to be a cover athlete. All the celebrity bandwagons and people who pretended to care have left by now. Everybody moved on to the World Cup.
Brunson will retire and kids on TikTok will call him ball knowledge within 5 years. I almost feel bad. Literally all they got out of this was “No Larry?”

Question for Mechanic types. Bought a used 2021 Subaru. 75K miles. Brand new battery. When starting cold, starts right up. When I drive the car an hour, stop for gas and start it, it starts right up. But if I drive the car around town for errands, when the car is warm, it sometimes cranks a while before it starts. What could it be? Fine when starting cold and hot. Trouble if car is just warm.

Rangers, Still Leading the Way
A lot gets said about standards. Yesterday at AUSA, the 75th Ranger Regiment gave a pretty good demonstration of them.
The Regiment won Army Best Squad. Colin Doyle was named NCO of the Year. Michael Shield was named Soldier of the Year.
Alongside them were William Masters, William Schaeffer, and Marshall Garren.
Five Rangers. Three top Army honors. Still leading the way.

We are told Philadelphia DA Larry Krasner has cancelled his scheduled 11 a.m. news conference which was supposed to detail Eric Lewis' criminal history. We are told that instead, a news release will be distributed.
The @PhillyInquirer reported late yesterday that supect Eric Lewis was acquitted of murder back in 2023.
