Same chart, two scenarios: Trade A: Followed the plan and took profit at +6%. Watched the price climb to +10% after. Trade B: Moved the target to catch +10%. The price reversed and exited at +3%. Missing the top still paid twice as much as chasing it and not sticking to the plan.

Nothing you decide to do with a position after 10pm has ever been your best idea. The chart will still be there at 9:30am.

The amount of bots and AI slop on fintwit is crazy. Whatever happened to making up our own degen posts with our own stupid brains?

Only one dip is worth buying right now: - cheap - comes with its own stick - doesn't keep dipping after you buy it.

Too many backtesting platforms charge you the same whether you ran 200 tests this month or 2. Paying for what you actually use isn't a radical idea.

Why are you still paying $$$ every month for a backtesting platform when you aren't even using half of the features?

Your backtest starts in March 2020. Congratulations, everything works. Now shift the start date six months either way and rerun it. If it falls apart, you didn't have a strategy. You had a generational bull market.

Biggest trading mistake: redesigning the plan in the middle of a bad day.

Three things to check before you trust any backtest: 1) Fees, taxes, and slippage are included 2) You tested on data you didn't tune on 3) There are enough trades to mean something Skip one and you're reading tea leaves.

Hot take: a simple moving average strategy you've backtested properly beats a complex algo you can't explain.

Overfitting is the silent killer of trading bots. If you tuned your parameters until the backtest looked perfect, you probably built a history lesson, not a strategy.

Most algo trading strategies don't fail because of the entry signal. They fail because of position sizing, fees, and slippage nobody tested for.
