The more "educated" you are the more risk averse you get.
This is why people with MBAs are hardly founders of successful businesses.

It’s hip hop, American influence is inevitable. But apparently, unless you also import the accent, you’re not doing it right?

It isn't that necessarily. Human beings generally would not be willing to part with privilege. Even when the source of that privileges is from something they abbor systemically/ideologically. Think of corruption broadl. We still want to get away from the scene ka "cooldrink"

My ex-husband's father drank a lot, like, a lot, from Friday after work, and never touched alcohol from Sunday to Thursday. You would think he was a different person. Quiet, dignified, respectable during those days when he was sober. His kids and wife, all of us, treated and respected him as uBaba. We would even be afraid to talk to him. We just greeted, "sawubona Baba" and passed. 😅 I called him Mkhulu, even though I had no kids and left the family before I had kids. He worked at a Stationery firm.
I had never met someone that disciplined with alcohol. I was very young, married young, divorced young, a topic for another post.
We lived in Senaoane Soweto. He would come home from work on Friday, getting off the train from Merafe station, he would be poep dronk, 😢 having started in the train, walking all the way home, not even getting on a taxi.
You'll hear the singing and shouting already even before he entered the gate. 😅 I was treated like the last born of the family. He bought me, without fail, fruit from the station, because I've always loved fruit, bananas, apples, mangoes.
He'll put his bag down and before he sits, go across the road to the spaza to buy me two 2litres of cold drink. Anyone who wanted cold drink, had to ask me. 😂
The whole night he will be drinking non stop, alone. He drank at home. So he'll be singing, making noise for the neighbours. They were used to him, tolerated him I guess. 😅 Anything he was not happy about during the week, he will voice it out, complain, but talking to himself, not confronting anyone.
On Saturday morning, he will cook himself pap, if it's winter, he'll make fire on the stove, we wake up the house is warm, he fries himself T-bone steak, eat, then go and drink. He would never leave without eating. You see how disciplined he was? He'll come back in the early evening just before sunset, never at night, again lekker dronk. 😂 He won't sleep till 3,4 a.m.
Sunday, he wakes up late, around 10h00. He prepares for Monday, polishing his shoes, playing jazz, getting ready for work. He dressed well and expensive, like a pantsula guy. Crocket and Jones, Brentwood pants, Ducks of London jackets, Polo jerseys and polo necks. You know the way Zulu guys dress these days. 😅 That's how disciplined Mkhulu was. Not sure whether people those days respected work that much or what.
Shame may Mkhulu's soul rest in peace. 🥺❤️

Back in the 90s, South Africa had more serial killers, operating at the same time, than anywhere in the world.
This is the story of Moses Sithole and 2 other serial killers you've probably never heard of.
