A year ago, on the 26/10 I ran the marathon and dedicated it to praying for a better Tanzania as we were approaching election season. This year, I dedicated my run to all the victims of the massacre that happened on 29/10 to TL and to everyone who has been abducted and tortured🇹🇿

Hakuna watu jokers kama hii gava yetu imagine a foreign country showing more empathy to us than our own govt. Yaani hata bare minimum hawataki kutupa aise 😂
Hakuna watu selfish na wasio na utu kama viongozi wa hii nchi, it’s one thing order killings of innocent civilians but not acting remorseful and na kuendelea na maisha as if nothing ever happened is another level of evil that I can’t even comprehend

A year after Tanzania's bloody election, many remain traumatised by the violence, while government critics live in fear of abduction and arbitrary arrest, or facing treason and terrorism charges.

It’s the Tanzania authorities that massacred hundreds of Tanzanians they should be holding themselves accountable!
Tanzanian authorities have not held anyone to account for the post-election violence security forces inflicted on protesters, which left hundreds of people dead.

On this day, bullets took your life away. Since October 29, 2025, your parents have missed you deeply. Your dream of seeing Arsenal win the Premier League finally came true in 2026.
Rest in peace, brother. You and everyone else we lost will never be forgotten. 💔🕊️

Today, we remember the terror, chaos, and stench of blood that befell this nation 365 days ago
It should serve as a reminder that, as a country, we aren't immune to anything
To all the perpetrators who in any way participated in that massacre
We bow our heads, but we won't forget
