An Ode to Walt of Red Baron: The Heart Inside a Working Man Walt, I don’t know you personally. But brother, I know your struggle. And I suspect millions of American men do, too. When I watched that video, I didn’t see an angry man who lost his composure. I saw a father who had been carrying the weight of responsibility for so long that, for one brief moment, the world heard what was happening inside his heart. I saw the exhaustion. I saw the frustration. But more than anything, I saw a man trying to make a living, provide for his children, and get home to the people he loves. And something about that moved me deeply. Because men like Walt are everywhere. They’re building our homes, maintaining our roads, stocking our shelves, driving our trucks, and quietly sustaining the infrastructure of this entire nation. Yet so often, they remain invisible until they make a mistake. We celebrate what men provide while seldom acknowledging what providing costs them. The missed birthdays. The aching bodies. The quiet prayers. The financial worries. The tears they refuse to shed in front of their children. There is something profoundly poignant about a man who gives so much of himself to build a future for his family that he sometimes misses the very moments he’s working to provide. And still, tomorrow morning, he gets up and does it again. Walt, your story inspired me to write this song. It’s called “The Heart Inside a Working Man.” I wrote it as an ode to you, but also to every father, husband, grandfather, and hardworking man who has ever wondered whether anybody truly understands how much he loves his family. Because a man’s love isn’t always expressed in beautiful words. Sometimes it’s expressed through worn-out boots, trembling hands, long hours, and a whispered prayer to Jesus before another difficult day. Walt, I pray God blesses you and your family abundantly. And I hope that when you hear this song, you recognize something that the world should have told you long ago. We see you, brother. This one’s for you, Walt. And for every working man whose greatest legacy will never be what he built with his hands, but the people he loved with his heart. With respect and brotherly love, A Stone Groove #AStoneGroove #SilentMajoritySpeaks

As rental cars go, this Spanish 40,000 mile Clio Turismo 1.0ltr manual, petrol, is ok. It’s a little rough running, especially when cold, it’s not the quietest on the motorway, but it cruises comfortably at 120kph, small enough for tight spaces. Still prefer my i3 EV

It will soon be three years since the Luton Airport fire. There was a lot falsely written and posted about EV‘s, following that event.

I had forgotten that UK fuel prices were also very high, back in 2022. Picture taken in Fareham, 1st July 2022.

30k miles covered in the BMW iX50. Brake pad wear less than 10%. Will take that, as my previous X5 used to manage around 60k miles and then need a set of pads and discs.

Good to see that wind and solar are delivering a big share of the energy generation, right now. Some people will probably say this isn’t good for us.

This 2024 Hyundai Kona EV is growing on me. It has the one of the best air conditioning system I have had in a car, for a long time. Ice cold air, delivered very quickly.

Just back from Portugal, where I had a very new Peugeot 5008 hybrid as a rental car, covering 500 miles. A big family car, with seven seat possibility. Driving range of around 550 motorway miles. Average 40mpg / 7.1 litres fuel per 100km. Comfortable, good aircon, reasonably quiet on Michelin e-primacy tyres, but under acceleration it was just a bag of nails, in my view ~ noisy, not quick and always holding gear for a while after the acceleration phase, before it settled down. Motorway cruising was very good. In city driving it felt jerky, and seemed to struggle to decide how it should propel itself, especially when hilly. Back in UK, jumped into the Hyundai Kona EV and everything just worked, very smooth and quiet.
