Someone launched a tirade of verbal onslaught at me and I made an uncalculated mistake of giving it back to her. I later decided to stop because I had other things to do, but the deed was already done. When I was less busy, I later went through the person's TL and saw plenty rants and frustrations due to financial hardship, life challenges and severe heat being experienced due toEl Nino. Imagine fighting and/or arguing online with someone who was angry because she wanted to use her vibrator (sex toy) but the battery was flat and there was no electricity to charge the battery, neither was there any money for her to buy petrol to fuel her generator at the time. She was so pained about her low battery in her sex toy that she had to rant about it on her TL. And that was the person I was responding to when she launched out to me unprovoked. 🤔🤔🤔😁 Someone who was angry and ranting online because she could no longer afford to buy her skin care products. In one of her posts, she even said that she was beginning to look like a mad woman because of how untidy the hair on her head has become. Almost 40, no husband, no child, and still not doing well financially; the frustration is real. Perhaps, X is a coping mechanism for her because it is always one rant or the other on her TL every now and then. I seriously empathise with her actually. Again, dear self, it is not every provocation that deserves a reaction. Some provocations are born out of frustration and transfer of aggression. I sincerely need to learn how to ignore some targeted online provocations.

Don't handover your peace to anyone. The person who can make you angry can control you. It's not every provocation that deserves a reaction. Sometimes, the best response is a deep breath and walking away. Being calm is a choice.
