HOW FG SELECTS BENEFICIARIES - ITEMIZED PROCEDURE Step 1: Identification of Poorest Communities States identify their poorest Local Government Areas and communities. Step 2: Community-Based Enumeration Trained enumerators work with community leaders and residents to identify vulnerable households. Step 3: Digital Registration and Poverty Assessment Identified households are registered digitally and assessed using poverty indicators and Proxy Means Testing, which evaluates household characteristics to estimate economic condition. Step 4: Matching Two Major Databases Beneficiaries must be in BOTH databases: A. Valid National Identification Number, NIN, issued by NIMC. The NIN confirms identity and links you to the mobile wallet where money will be paid. B. National Social Register, NSR, coordinated by the National Social Safety-Nets Coordinating Office, NASSCO. The register contains details of over 70 million poor and vulnerable Nigerians. Step 5: Screening and Ranking Households ranked within the bottom six deciles may qualify for inclusion in the National Beneficiary Register, which is used for cash transfer programmes. Being on the register does NOT automatically mean you will get the money. You must still pass further screening to confirm you meet the poverty and vulnerability criteria. Step 6: Phased Selection Payments are made in phases and in batches. Not everyone will be in the first group. If you are not selected now, it does not mean you have been permanently excluded. Step 3: Wallet Activation A mobile wallet linked to your phone number and NIN is activated. Step 4: Payment Credited The full N50,000 is credited into your wallet. Nothing is deducted.
