Today marks 100 days since Andy Burnham became Prime Minister. Keir Starmer led the most hostile government towards free speech in modern British history. Andy Burnham’s first 100 days suggest he could be even worse. Different Prime Minister. Same hostility towards our fundamental right to free speech.

Your name is Jean-Marc, you’re 46, and you run a video game and collectibles shop in Nice, wedged between an optician and a real estate agency selling 1-bed flats for €410,000 “with sea view” if you lean far enough off the balcony. You know every GTA San Andreas cheat by heart. You tested all of them in 2005 on the PS2 in your bedroom at your mum’s place. You opened in 2011 with a state-backed loan at 4.7%, and the naive belief that passion eventually pays. It did pay, sort of. €1,900 a month in a good year, after the French tax office has eaten first, second and third. Your commercial rent is indexed on a formula nobody in the Republic actually understands. You sell Funko Pops at €17.99, sealed Pokémon cards, refurbished controllers. You let little Enzo, 12, pay in installments because he’s saving for a Switch 2. You close at 7:30pm and walk home because the harbor parking is €3.40 an hour. Saturday, there’s a protest “against the cost of living.” You also think living costs too much. You almost went. At 5:12pm, your metal shutter gets ripped open with a crowbar. Forty teenagers in tracksuits and crossbody bags walk into your shop like it’s a bonus level. They take the PS5s, the Dragon Ball figures, the till with today’s €280 and even the box of paper bags that say “thank you for your visit.” A guy in a floral shirt films it vertically for TikTok. You step outside and say “stop, this is my shop.” You get hit from behind. Then rocks. They laugh. Floral shirt guy is thrilled: good angle, good lighting. Sunday morning, the police tell you there are “1,400 arrests nationwide” and they won’t send a squad for some Funko Pops. Filing the complaint takes 2 hours 40. The officer types with two fingers on Windows 7. Monday noon, your insurer reminds you that your €1,140-a-year policy has a €3,000 deductible and a “riots and civil commotion” exclusion on page 31, font size 6. Saturday night, an MP explains on TV that “the anger is legitimate” and we “shouldn’t cry over shop windows.” He’s never owned a shop window. He has a state-funded apartment. Sunday, your limited edition Vegeta figures show up on Vinted. “Brand new, never opened, €39, pickup in North Nice.” The seller has 4.9 stars. Monday, the tax office emails you. They haven’t heard about the riots. They’ve heard about your payment deadline. You did everything right, Jean-Marc. That was never the problem. The problem is you were playing by the rules in a lobby where nobody else does. So stop believing in the State. It’s not coming to save you. It’s coming to collect. Stop voting. Every five years they hand you the controller, and it’s never plugged in. Go to the gym. Not for revenge. For you. Because when the system folds, the only asset nobody can loot is the one you built under a barbell. And make money they can’t see. Cash, side hustles, sats on a cold wallet in a sock drawer. Not your keys, not your coins. Not your shop, not your loss. Fuck the system, Jean-Marc. It already did it to you first.

Our duty is to hold on to the lost position, without hope, without rescue, like that anime incel whose bones were found in front of a door in Paris, who, during the eruption of “la Nouvelle France,” died at his post because they forgot to relieve him. That is greatness.

codebases have always contained slop. we have always been okay with this because code rarely needs to be perfect, outside of mission critical "hard" (eg embedded) software. swe is a unique form of engineering because you're often building something that constantly evolves and is almost organic - user tastes change, your mental models evolve, and features come and go. admittedly, i and many others who've been coding for a long time were initially (like back in 2024) skeptical that agents would write production code. "but what about all the slop that would enter our beautiful codebase?". well, even before, we had human slop, and there was a lot of it! if we're being truthful, most people call "code i didn't write" slop. the reality is that 99% of people (i include myself in that number) don't even know what Good Code looks like, let alone be capable of writing it. i would propose that Good Code is: • correct • bug free • fast and cost efficient to run it has always been exceedingly difficult and expensive to write truly Good Code, because for the longest time (maybe @bendlang will change that), code was not something you could cheaply and formally guarantee to have all 3 of these properties. this is why writing hard software is much more difficult and expensive, because depending on the use case, you may only get one chance and so you have to be right from the start. but the vast majority of software we use does not need to be Good Code to provide value to users. in fact, it is very likely that most software we use is not formally verifiable! we accepted some bugs in exchange for velocity and progress, so we rely on tests and o11y instead and have adopted a more incremental approach. this is a good thing! agents help us move faster, and if you're open to the idea, are capable of helping us write better code. it won't be Good Code (that is still expensive), but it is likely to be much better on average at scale. the new craft of swe is to figure out how to do this. it's your job now! if your productivity with and without agents is not significantly different, you're doing something wrong. but it's not too late to embrace it and use it as an opportunity to learn a whole new skill tree

> Farmer driving through countryside. > See brown men > Call police >>> Terror attack prevented. W for rural racism tbh.
🚨NEW: The Telegraph reports a local farmer near RAF Fairford, driving home from a party in the early hours, came across three seemingly abandoned white vans blocking a quiet country road. Confused, she turned her car around. As she did so, she saw a group of masked men in balaclavas scattering into the trees and across the fields towards RAF Fairford. She then accelerated away and called the police

Nobody in this footage is English and if they continue to be permitted to live here, England as we know it will no longer exist. It's really that simple. I know it's not politically correct to think this, let alone type it out and post it online, but it's the truth. This is a hostile and alien culture here to dominate and control the English.
The gender segregated queues. The scuffles for cooking oil. The man with the foreign account waffling on over the tannoy. The questionable looking shop. The Boriswaver subcontinental security guard. It really has got it all. Peak Yookay.

>The AfD won because of mass third world immigration >Brexit was because of mass third world immigration. >Trump won both elections because of mass third world immigration. >The right wing is rising in every country in the entire western world because of mass third world immigration. If there wasn't mass third world immigration the EU, the UN the USA and every single major liberal institution would be under absolutely zero threat right now. The entire elite global power structure would be as unchallenged as it was in the 1990s. But even still, they just will not stop the mass immigration. That tells me that the replacement of homogeneous, white populations isn't a side effect or unintentional consequence of their worldview, but it's most essential element. Otherwise they wouldn't be willing to burn down everything they spent decades building to keep it going.

Ignored if they vote. Punished if they speak. Arrested if they post. Called thuggish and intimidating if they protest. Just what are people supposed to do?
'It was thuggish and intimidating behaviour' Government minister Emma Reynolds reacted on #BBCBreakfast to a protest in Portsmouth on Sunday night after around 140 migrants arrived in a single dinghy that had crossed the English Channel. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/clye…

>get onto train at Liverpool St >busy but generally quiet* >*by TfL standards >two people annoyingly having phone calls but not too loud >standing room only >progress three stops down the line >carriage empties out a little >grab a seat >next stop >young immigrant fella gets on >ethnically ambiguous but Roma looking >sits next to me >cracks out phone >starts scrolling TikToks in foreign language at FULL VOLUME >one other white guy on train >older, mid-30s, business attire >looks at TikTok man then me repeatedly >clearly expects me to do something >obviously no balls to do something himself >everyone else around is either black or ethnic minority (typical for my train) >none seem remotely bothered by TikTok man’s behaviour >make a point of passive aggressively looking at him and his phone >hopefully this solves it >it does not >ask him “do you have earphones?” >he replies “no understand” >rephrase several times >still “no understand” >point at phone and do hand gestures >again “no understand” >give up >not worth aggro when someone takes offence and says I’m harassing him or being “racist” >if it goes tits up no one is going to come to my aid (I often think about this when I look around my train each day) >revert to minding my own business >HE TAKES OUT A VAPE AND STARTS VAPING Travelling on TfL services in London has become a totally f*cking miserable experience. I absolutely detest that I am forced to spend my precious money to use these services (and, in doing so, subsidise all the thieving twats who think it’s fine to fare evade). All of this to disembark the train at my stop, watch three young black men in tracksuits, a young Turkish-looking woman, and an older Somali woman (with five children in tow) push through the barriers and fare evade (with no staff intervention, of course - the TfL Jobs Programme participant, an African woman, was sat inside the sentry box glued to her phone - probably watching TikToks…). Step out of the station and almost get run over by a young man in a balaclava bombing it down the pavement at 80mph (yes, that fast) on a clearly modified e-bike - then watch him snatch a man’s phone further down the street. What is the point? It’s like living in a failed state.

I'm not even sure I can be arsed debating immigration any more. For me it's been almost a sole preoccupation for some years now and it hasn't made the slightest difference. The government knows that third world migrants are rapey savages who present a serious danger to British women, and have now admitted as much. A functioning government armed with this information would draw certain conclusions from this but Labour has taken it upon themselves to redistribute the wealth so everyone gets their "fair share" of rapey third worlders. It is apparently our "moral obligation". Unfortunately for us, there is nothing within the law we can do about this. Even protesting too loudly sees a visit from the plod. We can protest, complain and even vote, but they'll keep doing it to us anyway because they don't really care who gets hurt, and are too stupid to realise the longer term implications. There is nothing the rest of us can do to defend ourselves unless we are willing to break the law. Certainly, the Slop Right is not going to get its act together. But most of us are not willing or able to do anything about it. Especially those with anything to lose. Meanwhile, half the country is oblivious to what's happening, and doesn't see the urgency or what is at stake. There's no real point raising the alarm because those who are paying attention already know. We are talking to ourselves. That in its own way changes the relationship between the people and their rulers. The government is behaving more like an occupying force - not least because it is aiding and abetting an invasion. On that basis, we are simply awaiting a societal ignition. In the meantime, the government thinks we can be placated with free bus passes. We're just not a serious country so I'm afraid I just do not see a peaceful or democratic solution to this. It has to run its course. There's a lot of misery ahead and it is richly deserved.

Here’s the thing about Arday: he wasn’t a “real” academic fraudster. Of course, he committed extensive academic fraud, but it wasn’t his primary goal. He didn’t set out to be an academic superstar. I don’t believe he was even interested in politics. Arday didn’t crave intellectual glory, honor, or recognition. Arday was primarily a Munchausen Syndrome case. Pity was what he really wanted. He set out, with ruthless and single-minded persistence, to acquire the pity, condescending admiration, and doting care we reserve for the physically sick and infirm. And, it just so happened due to the ideological manias of our current historical epoch, that Western academic and media elites had boundless enthusiasm for providing it to him. Across Arday’s speeches, lectures, interviews, TEDTalks, website, and ghostwritten autobiography, the fixation is with his own (allegedly) constantly broken and failing body. All of his stories, his lies, his “work” were nothing but shoddy vehicles to discuss his (purported) illnesses. Including, but not limited to: severely nonverbally autistic as a kid; illiterate due to learning disabilities as a teen; epilepsy; testicular cancer; deaf in one ear; dyslexia; mini-stroke with memory loss; brain cancer; hit by a car; getting secretly beaten up; a months-long “locked-in syndrome” coma; something called “autistic burnout”; breaking his leg during a marathon but still completing it; and so on. He didn’t care about racial politics beyond the perfunctory. Watch his lectures on “de-colonization”, anti-racism, or whiteness: listless and limp. He complains about racism, and demands change, but only in vague, general, and (most tellingly) rarely truly bitter terms. Keep in mind, there are many in academia who are deeply hateful and venomous towards whites, who earnestly seek the complete dispossession and imposition of enormous suffering on us. Arday was happy to go along with these ideological fevers, but only insofar as they offered a potential chance to talk about physical fevers. What’s the significance of this? Well, a lot, I think, but here are two things: First, it’s incredibly diagnostic of what “Wokeness” really is. Arday wasn’t a black radical deeply acquainted with theory. He was a black man who wanted people to feel sorry for him. And THAT particular combination of traits was what was IRRESISTIBLE for those “at the top”. Relative to his actual abilities, Arday was probably the most accomplished person in academia ever, precisely BECAUSE he lucked out as a rare example of a black man with Munchausen Syndrome, a psychological disorder most common in white females. Thus, as a world-organizing system of thought, Wokeness is structurally oriented to maximally reward a Munchausen black guy who demands worshipful, reverent pity. Not real valiant struggle, not political vision, not even anti-white hatred, just the parasitical and pitiful. A black man who wanted your pity. Second, it explains the ambivalent, or even fond (now with his passing, also mournful), reactions to Arday’s antics from “the right”, even from those most disposed to hate him. Many say that, due to the sheer scale and absurdity of his serial fabulating, it became amusing, surreal cheek: almost performance art. Others report complicated feelings of pity, and argue he deserves this pity, because “the system set him up”, or “the real racists are the ones who gave him a job he couldn’t do”. But they’re misunderstanding their own reactions. The real reason it is difficult to truly hate Arday is because, even if you didn’t consciously realize it, on some subconscious level, we all recognize a Munchie. And we all intuitively understand the goal of the Munchie is not to rule over us, but to lie beneath. Even if you can recognize *logically* that Arday was a regime stooge, an ideological threat who objectively wielded power over you, it is very difficult *emotionally* to feel threatened by someone who wanted nothing but to be weak.
🚨 BREAKING: Jason Arday has been found dead at an address in Battersea
