Recently, SEBI has taken action against a finfluencer using misleading advertisements to sell courses. This is good for the ecosystem — because such people don’t just harm society, they also damage the credibility of genuine educators and ethical finfluencers. I want to clarify my own approach, because transparency matters: I am a SEBI-registered Research Analyst (RA) and a Chartered Accountant (CA). I conduct only 2 physical workshops a year, with a strict limit of 10–13 students per batch. The fee is ₹12,000–₹15,000, and for students from the armed forces or those who are financially weak, I allow enrollment at just ₹5,000 (included within the same student limit). Even if you calculate the numbers: 💰 Revenue: 13 students × ₹12,000 = ₹1.5 lakh 💼 Expenses: Hotel cost (3 days × ~₹2,000 × 15 people) = ₹90,000 Projector + screen (₹2,500 × 3 days) = ₹7,500 Travel, stay & dinner = ₹30,000–₹40,000 Study material, e-book, breakfast, lunch, high tea, snacks, stationery = ₹10,000+ Plus, if 1–2 students cancel last moment, I personally bear that cost. Total expenses ≈ ₹1.5 lakh Net profit = ₹0 And still, we give full value. We also allow any past student to attend any future batch — they just pay the hotel’s actual cost. Because for us, education is a right, not a business model. I have been a CA since 2018 and fully active in the stock market field. If I devoted these same 4 workshop days to my CA practice, I would have easily earned ₹30,000+, but I never even count that opportunity cost — because my goal is to genuinely help learners, not maximize income. 💬 My message is simple: Don’t judge every educator because of a few fraudulent finfluencers. Some of us genuinely work with integrity, transparency, and the intention to uplift others. And to keep myself accountable: If any past student can prove that I ever failed to provide the facilities mentioned above, or that I allowed more than 13 students in a batch, I will personally give them ₹1 lakh as a reward. Good educators exist — don’t let the wrong ones blind you to that truth.
