My 6-year-old has not stopped talking about it!
Year 1 @PrincecroftPri had the BEST school trip today at @SalisburyCath. Thank you to all of the tour guides that gave such an enriching and informative tour. The children are all desperate to return and can’t wait to take home their medieval tiles (once they’ve air-dried)!

What is the average score you expect a year 1 to achieve on a practice screening check this time of year? #phonics #SoundsWrite #year1 #spelling
Thank you @stmichaelsald for an informative and thought provoking visit today! I definitely have a lot to think about 🧐🤯.
If anyone has any links to Midsomer Norton/Radstock/Frome/Bristol, our cat has been missing for a month now 😞 and we are missing him like crazy. Any possible sightings would be appreciated 😥.
Weirdly, I lost my voice and WOW…I’ve never encountered such a kind, caring and reassuring group of 5-6 year olds🥰.
“Keep drinking Miss Surridge, you need it!”
“Oooh! You sound like a chicken.”
“I have tablets at home, I’ll bring you one in tomorrow.”
💕I adore my class💕
Our headteacher is the best @Mrs_P_HT What a brilliant spooky surprise!

My eldest is in year 1 and has had two incredible teachers in his little school life so far - @L_Batch7 and @SurridgeMiss combined with @SWLiteracy are making a real little reader out of him ☺️📚

Progress 8 is out for 2023!
We are very pleased. ☺️
But as ever, I am always most proud of who our children are as people.
Kind, polite, hard-working, decent.
But the 2.37 Progress is pretty nice too! ☺️

Sounds-write is the most effective approach I’ve seen in over forty years. @SWLiteracy
Year 1 maths focus this week: ‘Number bonds’.
The children will be using their knowledge of using part part whole models to show the relationship between a whole number and it’s parts!
The ‘more or less’ monsters were a hit with the children! A great opportunity for them to independently consolidate their understanding of numbers and place value.
The children loved revisiting the /ae/ sound today in the provision. As a challenge, they were asked to write sentences using the words they categorised. Pictures of their sentences will be posted tomorrow 🎉.
Today was the first time I’ve taught
Unit 1 /ae/ @SWLiteracy in my teaching career, so I’ve never had the opportunity in telling the story of a split spelling. Cut a long story short (excuse the pun)- I bloody loved it 🤣✂️!
I am officially moving out of KS2 and into KS1 for the first time in my teaching career 😬🥰. If anyone has any Year 1/ KS1 Continuous Provision accounts I could follow, I’d hugely appreciate it 👌🏼🎉.

We have an amazing TA at our school who runs a weekly gardening club. Today, she sold the most beautiful flowers grown on site (for a bargain!) and they put a smile on everyone’s face. She is wonderful 🥰💐
