Devon MP ( Caroline Voaden ) urges Prime Minister to act on pelvic mesh 'scandal’
She demanded to know when the
government would respond to the Hughes Report, which was published in 2024 and set out options for providing #redress for those harmed by pelvic #mesh and the medicine valproate.

Time for a #PUBLICINQUIRY #mesh
The original narrative that mesh caused ‘avoidable harm’ was true - but since that was said the evidence of much deeper longstanding harm has been identified and must be examined further
🚨This new evidence should have brought about a public inquiry into the plastic mesh scandal - I’m disappointed this is still not being reported
🔹The University of Sheffield work (led by researchers including Nicholas Farr and Sheila MacNeil) has shown that polypropylene mesh can begin surface degradation, oxidation, and stiffening within about 60 days in a sheep pelvic model, with progressive particle release into surrounding tissue by 180 days.
🔹Related studies have examined how oxidised or mechanically distressed mesh surfaces alter macrophage gene expression toward pro-inflammatory and pro-fibrotic responses.
🔹Separately, the 2026 BJUI Compass paper by Jamieson and colleagues reported systemic immune changes in women with urogynaecological mesh complications—elevated chemotactic factors in serum and increased immunomodulatory protein release from patients’ peripheral blood mononuclear cells—distinct from healthy controls.
🔹These findings post-date much of the classic mesh-inquiry evidence base and speak more directly to material instability and host response than earlier arguments about “inert” implants or purely mechanical problems, and gives clear evidence that these implants cause multiple lifelong complications and pain

🚨Second mesh scandal
No one was trained to remove it - and 6 years after the IMMDS Review still no one is trained!
According to statements from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG), pelvic mesh removal surgery is an entirely new area of clinical practice, meaning there are still no formal
, standard global training programmes or fellowships specifically dedicated to extracting eroded pelvic mesh

A moment to feel validated that our feelings are/were real, thankyou for fighting the fight and not giving in ❤️
“Our study presents the first investigation of systemic immunomodulatory protein levels in patients experiencing urogynaecological mesh complications and shows significant changes in the serum levels of these proteins as well as the levels that are secreted by the patient's own immune cells” #publicinquiry
#mesh injured women have suffered catastrophic injuries and after decades the truth is finally being revealed
🚨we were told it was all in our heads
🚨 finally the new studies prove our truth
🚨we were and are genuinely extremely ill and we need truth, care, acknowledgment, treatment, public inquiry, full apology and compensation

Mesh injured need to amplify calls for a statutory public inquiry into mesh harms, including so far unrecognized chronic illnesses from foreign body reactions.

Even with irrefutable facts and in the wake of the Paterson Inquiry that identified “wilful blindness” with the National Patient Recall Framework set up, they’ve neglected to make the NPRF mandatory allowing hospitals to refuse a recall , the GMC, CQC, PHSO, and all involved with alleged patient safety are ignoring statistics of harm, and group complaints where doctors are given protection rather than the patients - it is time this was all robustly investigated in the interest of public safety
It is time for a #PUBLIC INQUIRY
These poor ladies were vindicated with the verdict against #IanPaterson
Needless operations is evident in many areas - not least #mesh that was touted as ‘gold standard’ and women were fast forwarded to surgery that didn’t even need #mesh implants but resulted in complex painful #vaginal injuries - and that’s just one of the injuries
since the insertion of this hideous device into our complex pelvic structures and soft organs it has now been reclassified as dangerous
so we now have dangerous devices internally - why was it not classified as dangerous BEFORE regulators allowed it’s use @MHRAdevices
There’s no #consent to us having a ‘dangerous device ‘ shoved cruelly into our bodies , which has wreaked havoc on our lives
No audits and no MRI scans - no one knows the full extent of suffering or how many have died

We had plastic implanted in us without our consent
🚨the surgical procedure was ‘blind’ without post op scans
🚨 we were not told it was plastic during consultation nor were we told that the plastic could never be removed
🚨no one was qualified to remove the ‘stuck’ deteriorating plastic and to this day there is still no formal training

Lisa Megginson ‘My mesh horror story is now on public display’
This is fantastic to see but it's a horror story to me," said Lisa, from Kinross.
"That little 25cm piece of plastic has devastated my life & my family's lives," she said.
"It's not just like it's removed & you're ok, I have still got a surgical journey to go on & you never recover."
“NEVER RECOVER”
🚩We were not told that we would never recover
🚩We were not told that there was no qualified & able surgeon to get this #mesh ‘stuff’ out
🚩We were not told it was #plastic designed to stay in us permanently
🚩We were not told that we needed urodynamics studies first
🚩We were not told that during blind insertion technique that organs could be punctured or the #medicaldevice would adhere to many wrong areas
🤥We were told it was minimally invasive
😡We are now told it should be used as a last resort
#mesh was & is a horror story of epic proportions pushed on to patients through nothing more than lies from professionals we trusted
🧐It is time for a full & proper independent inquiry into why #mesh caused such complex unconsented catastrophic #pelvic injuries to us all

Lots of talk about the damaging effects of Folic Acid in the British food supply, some would even suggest it is poison.
Who was behind its introduction?
Daniel Zeichner and Gillian Merron.
Zeichner played a central role in the UK’s decision to mandate the addition of folic acid to flour.
As the Minister for Food Security under the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra), Zeichner introduced and signed off on the Bread and Flour (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2024.
Baroness Gillian Merron, the UK Minister for Patient Safety, Women's Health and Mental Health, announced new legislation to require the mandatory fortification of non-wholemeal wheat flour with folic acid to help prevent neural tube birth defects.
According to Wikipedia Zeichner's father was 'an Austrian political refugee whose family fled Vienna in 1938'.
Merron was chief executive of the 'Board of Deputies of British jews' from 2014 to 2021.

THE "HAND-OFF" PHENOMENON - "I'm so over it!" The ultimate betrayal is discovering that even the top specialized centers pick and choose their patients. When doctors trained by the elite lines select only specific risk profiles, the most complex, severely harmed casualties are left with nowhere to turn. Read more in ALT.

ALT Even at the absolute top of the medical pipeline, women face strict gatekeeping and a complete lack of a universal standard of care. They treat our lives as calculated files on a desk, leaving the most desperate cases completely stranded. It is disgusting, completely inhumane, and the direct result of having NO standard of care. The system bounces us around like hot potatoes to protect the industry, treating our lives as a mere cost of doing business. We are not an error that does not exist.

🚨Question: why would anyone allow a permanent device that is not inert to be permanently inserted through a woman’s vagina during ‘blind’ gung-ho procedures knowing they had absolutely NO IDEA HOW TO GET THIS OUT OF THESE SUFFERING WOMEN ?
And then insult us by saying you’ve only got 3 years to make a claim for PERMANENT internal injuries
Where is the #redress ❓

Quote Erin Brokovich …….. “The only way we’re ever going to see an end to scandals like this is by making sure, if wrongdoing is found, #criminal charges are brought against those responsible.
“We have firms who know something has gone wrong and they hide that information
“They refuse to take responsibility, although they have damaged hundreds of thousands of lives.
“If accountability is making them pay a billion dollars when their company has $90billion, that’s not much of a sting.

The Legendary activist Erin Brockovich joined @SundayMail campaign for NHS patients left in anguish regarding the #mesh #scandal @ladymcbeth2 @ErinBrockovich
12 years later women feel forgotten and totally let down with the unveiling of a second phase in the #mesh scandal, partial and botched mesh removals instead of full removal of the plastic made from crude oil resin

It would be amazing if @andyburnham could sort this. The Primodos scandal is an absolute outrage and women like Marie Lyon have campaigned brilliantly for many years and been ignored by too many PMs and Health Secretaries.
Andy Burnham has said he will work to 'get justice' for the victims of the Primodos scandal.
Burnham paid tribute to campaigners, who have suffered harm due to the pregnancy test drug that was used between the 1950s and 1970s.

Appalling disaster. Not a single prosecution or even dismissal of those responsible. £50 was offered to bereaved families by the National Coal Board. What a kick in the teeth! youtube.com/watch?v=_ZncGBFK…
