If you want info (detailed, with links) on the how the Russia/Ukraine conflict came about, read this comprehensive 🧵 It includes articles from John Pilger, Paul Keating and Malcolm Fraser #auspol
I get asked this all the time, so I am reposting my famous thread of all the top strategic thinkers - from Kissinger to Chomsky - who warned for years that war was coming if we pursued NATO expansion, yet had their advice ignored (which begs the question: why?).

OSCE. 2016 "The prisoners were electrocuted, beaten cruelly and for multiple days in a row with different objects (iron bars, baseball bats, sticks, rifle butts, bayonet knives, rubber batons). Techniques widely used by the Ukrainian armed forces and security forces include waterboarding, strangling with a ‘Banderist garrotte’ and other types of strangling. In some cases prisoners, for the purposes of intimidation, were sent to minefields and run over with military vehicles, which led to their death. Other torture methods used by the Ukrainian armed forces and security forces include bone-crashing, stabbing and cutting with a knife, branding with red-hot objects, shooting different body parts with small arms. The prisoners taken captive by the Ukrainian armed forces and security forces are kept for days at freezing temperatures, with no access to food or medical assistance, and are often forced to take psychotropic substances that cause agony. An absolute majority of prisoners are put through mock firing squads and suffer death and rape threats to their families. Many of those tortured are not members of the self-defense forces of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR).”

And here is another juxtaposition of Ukrainian law and order. The lady doctor is going to be held for 60 days without bail and is facing up to eight years in prison for showing up in a medic’s uniform and making noise about what was happening inside that house. Oleksandr Shavlyuk, a Vinnytsia-based blogger and lawyer who spent years criticizing TCC mobilization practices and abuses, has been in custody since late 2024. In May 2026 a court sentenced him to three years for fraud and “insulting the honour and dignity of military personnel.” Iuliia Mendel, Zelensky’s former press secretary, was hit with 10-year sanctions in September and, just days ago, was notified in absentia of suspicion of high treason and justifying Russian aggression, largely over interviews and social media posts. She is abroad and faces potentially 15 years to life. There is a long list of such occurrences. Yet Andriy Yermak, who was charged in May 2026 with laundering more than ₴460 million, spent a few nights in detention before posting bail. He walked out with an electronic bracelet that has since been removed because it allegedly “could pose a threat to his life and health.” Former Energy and Justice Minister Herman Halushchenko, also implicated in those schemes, was detained while trying to leave the country but was later released after a reduced bail was posted. He remains free under court-imposed conditions. In Zakarpattia, the head of the local TCC, Andriy Savchuk, had his office searched by the SBU; roughly $100,000 in cash was found. He was dismissed, then reinstated as acting head within two months by the Land Forces Command. Meanwhile the Ombudsman’s office has logged more than 6,000 complaints about TCC practices in 2026 alone including unlawful detentions, beatings, and conscription of people with valid deferments. When those cases do reach court, convictions for torture or unlawful deprivation of liberty frequently result in suspended sentences and probation rather than actual prison time. And what ever happened to Lieutenant Colonel Yuriy Harkavyi, the commander of the 425th Separate Assault Regiment, the infamous “Skelia”? Last we heard, he was suspended in late June 2026 after an investigation documented at least 26 non-combat deaths of recruits between late 2025 and spring 2026. The men, mostly newly mobilized, were officially listed as dying of pneumonia or cardiovascular disease. Relatives and former soldiers described systematic beatings, humiliation, confinement, delayed medical care, and signs of violence on the bodies. Some accounts included recruits being tied to vehicles and dragged, and multiple suicides in short periods. He was removed from command. That is the extent of the public accountability so far. There is a long list of these occurrences as well. A critically minded individual should deduce that the pattern is not at all subtle. Critics of mobilization, people who show up at inconvenient places, and former officials who later speak critically get rapid suspicion notices, pre-trial detention without bail, and years in prison or in absentia treason charges and of course the obligatory “working for the Kremlin” label. Yet, senior figures from the inner circle facing massive corruption allegations get bail, a heads-up that it is time to leave the country, and the full presumption that the process will take its time. They remain untouched while the investigation into them is promised and then quietly deprioritized. This is exactly what happens when everyone is yelling over the legitimate critics and pretending that the giant yellow elephant doesn’t exist. This is what happens when people are given free rein to decide what is “disinformation” and what is “protection of national security.” What this certainly isn’t is Russian disinformation. When a state systematically protects actual abusers of people and office while treating anyone who documents it as the actual threat, they are ultimately the ones handing Russia the propaganda wins on a silver platter.

Imagine thinking talking about people’s asses was good campaign strategy. And the stupid trained baby seals clapped along praising and giggling about the weird comments by the President. The Republican Party has a woman problem. Rightfully so! Trump refused to fight for rape victims and protected pedo elites then called everyone his “former supporters” for demanding the release of the files. It’s all so bad and it’s not going away.

Haven’t heard a word about any of this on the BBC, NYT, FT etc. Torture blacksites run by neo Nazis. The whistleblower who exposed it being brought up on charges. But of course this is all about defending “democracy”
BREAKING: Valentina, the nurse who exposed the secret prisons in Ukraine where mobilized men are tortured, has been officially brought before a court.

Sponsored by the Australian government to the tune of $1.7B of taxpayers money. I hope the government are happy with the return because Australians had no say in this and would not have agreed to it if asked. #auspol #corruptPoliticians
What Western Media doesn't want you to know about Ukraine, and is grossly complicit in hiding, is that the War in Ukraine is a Civil War, a Civil War where one side backed a CIA sponsored and directed, Neo Nazi alligned, illegal Coup, and one side Resisted. One side demanded their language, Religion, families, history, and culture be protected and respected. And one side attacked them for it, with fighter jets, artillery and battalions of brutal Neo Nazis bent on terror and Murder. Here's that story. Heres the Truth. Those in Washington, London and Brussels who flood Ukraine with weapons, and prop up the grossly corrupt and brutal elite in Kiev, would like you to believe that the War began on February 24th, 2022?, when Russian troops finally intervened and crossed the Ukrainian frontier. The truth, which they are desperate to conceal and misrepresent, is very very different. Throughout March 2014, the ordinary citizens of Donbass in Eastern Ukraine rallied and demanded that Kiev and the radical Western Ukrainain elites hear their voices raised against the CIA backed Coup that illegally and violently toppled the democratically elected Government. They demanded a referendum on succession from Ukraine, as they wholeheartedly rejected the anti-Russian policy of the illegal, Washington installed Nationalist government, which was openly allied with Neo Nazis and Ultra far right factions. On April 6, after another rally was ignored by the Kiev regime, activists stormed the building of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, that night, two documents were written, the Declaration of Sovereignty and the Act on the Declaration of State Independence of the Donetsk People's Republic. On April 7, Vladimir Makovich read them out to representatives of cities and districts of the then Donetsk region, and they unanimously voted for their adoption. The DPR was born. This is of course is not the kind of Democracy Washington supports, a people's movement for equality and independence, a movement that refused to bend its knee to a pro Atlantasist cabal, a movement that decided it was better to fight for freedom and independence than meet the fate of those that would be Massacred in Odessa. Despite what the Western client media tells you about Maidan and the ensuing Civil War in Ukraine, remember this, every tax dollar and Euro sent to Ukraine is used to fund a War against its own people. Their crime? Defending their right to disagree. Defending their right to self determination, and fighting back in the face of violent and hateful Neo Nazi aligned radicals sent to crush their right to dissent, their right to exist. This is the inconvient truth suppressed by a Client media controlled by the same forces profiting from the deaths of hundreds of thousands of ordinary people. Peace is sadly a dirty word in Washington, London, Brussels and Kiev, but the people of Donbas will indeed have the Peace they have sought and deserve It's now only a matter of how many more Ukrainains Washington, London and Brussels decide have to die before they publicly accept what they've privately known since day one. That their grotesque project to destabilise Russia was an unwinnable gamble, a gamble with the lives of so many innocents, a gamble they were will to take at any price, and are willing to perpetuate at any price. A price that has been ultimately paid with the lives of Ukrainians and Russians, and funded by the hard pressed western taxpayer.

Israel is telling you Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer are bought and paid for. KICK THEM OUT!

The woman who found Azov’s secret prison was ordered to be held in custody without the right to bail. The second woman, who was involved in this, was also ordered to be held in custody without the right to bail. Look, if you don’t understand, in Ukraine, murderers are released on their own recognizance. In Ukraine, people who plan to murder journalists are not subjected to any preventive measures whatsoever by Ukrainian courts. This is reality. Can you imagine how dangerous such people are to this stinking, vile, filthy, scumbag state of Ukraine? This is the greatest danger to this stinking state, which was created by the stinking Zelensky. They understand that Ukrainians are already on the verge of revolt. And that is why these two women are the greatest danger to the stinking state created by Zelensky. They are more dangerous than terrorists, drug traffickers, and hired assassins. Cursed be everyone who supports this stinking, scumbag state.

I wasn't going to comment on this sordid and disturbing story, because others have said all there is to say. But adding a child - a child who is a victim of torture - to the Myrotvorets list has end-times vibes. Where do you go from here?
A 14-year-old boy who was beaten in a secret Azov prison near Kyiv has been added to the Myrotvorets hit list. No, not his abusers — the boy himself. He is accused of: 📌“Actions aimed at undermining Ukraine’s defense capabilities and disrupting mobilization efforts in the interests of the Russian fascist invaders.” 📌“Incitement to attacks against Ukrainian military personnel.” 📌“Attacking Ukrainian military personnel with the aim of inflicting bodily harm and destroying military property.” 📌“Obstructing the lawful activities of Ukraine’s Defense Forces in protecting the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.” If I were his mother, I would take my child out of this fascist country, leave for somewhere else, and immediately seek political asylum to save Oleksii’s life. Zelenskyy’s regime is a criminal mafia, propped up by Azov militants armed to the teeth with NATO’s latest high-tech military toys. Slava Ukraini?!

This video was released today by NABU to explain the arrest of SBU General Serhiy Duka, who is suspected of protecting fraudulent call centers and other criminal operations in Ukraine and across Europe. Let me remind you that the SBU is under Zelenskyy's authority. Europe is shielding Zelenskyy's mafia-style regime while calling it a democracy.

The woman you see in the defendant’s cage in a Kyiv courtroom today is Tetiana Kirieieva, who has just been ordered held in pre-trial detention for two months without the right to bail. Her alleged crime? Trying to save her sister’s partner’s life. It was Tetiana who asked medic Valentyna Moloda to evacuate a man with a stoma from a basement in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka, just outside Kyiv, where he was being denied medical care. Neither woman apparently had the slightest idea that the place was a secret detention facility run by “elite” Azov, where mobilized men and deserters were allegedly subjected to torture as a matter of routine. And when protests erupted, who rushed in to put out the fire? None other than General Budanov, the former head of HUR, himself. And how did he choose to handle the situation? By speaking the “language of the enemy” — the very language so contemptuously dismissed as the tongue of “pigs and dogs.” In other words, his own native Russian. Oh, the irony. Now two women who dared to save a man's life — and, in the process, helped rescue several others suffering from serious injuries and deprived of medical treatment — face the full wrath of Zelensky's wartime justice system. Their unforgivable sin? They dared to touch the untouchable. They dared to expose the "sacred" Azov. And so, instead of investigating and prosecuting those accused of torturing defenseless men, the authorities are going after the women who tried to save them. The alleged torturers remain beyond the reach of justice. The rescuers are behind bars. Welcome to a world where saving lives can be treated as a crime — and where the real crime, apparently, is daring to expose those who consider themselves above the law.

He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named “Representatives of the global business community” = Blackrock
We just had a very detailed, hour-and-a-half-long conversation with Steve Witkoff @SEPeaceMissions and Jared Kushner @jaredkushner. We are preparing for a trilateral format at the team level between Ukraine, the United States, and Russia – to take place in less than a week. Today, there was also a substantive meeting in Brussels involving our team, teams from America, the EU, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, NATO, the World Bank, and representatives of the global business community. The meeting focused on postwar recovery. There will be another meeting in Brussels tomorrow on security guarantees for Ukraine. The negotiations must move forward at full throttle to bring this war to an end as quickly as possible. Ukraine is ready to take the necessary steps. Our proposals are clear, and we have given them to the American side. Air defense is an important priority, and we discussed this as well. We need interceptors for Patriot systems to protect lives from Russian attacks. We must also continue working on each of the bilateral tracks with America. This applies to the Drone Deal format in particular. Ukraine is grateful to the United States for its support for Ukraine's independence, our people, and diplomatic efforts. Peace has no alternative, and postwar security guarantees must be truly cast-iron. We are working to make this happen! Glory to Ukraine!

Rescuers in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, in Russia's Far East, saved a young roe deer that had become trapped in the ice of a river. Passers-by spotted the exhausted animal about five metres from shore and called emergency services, per local media. and a rescuer wearing a protective suit crossed the thin ice and used a rope to pull the deer to safety.
