I support all non-violent direct action to prevent genocide. I also support the legal right of any group to fight militarily against illegal occupation.

As the world reinstates masks in hospitals... I'll reup this. When a UK hospital upgraded staff masks from fluid resistant surgical masks to airtight respirators on Covid-19 wards, staff infections fell a dramatic 100%. That's not a typo. #CovidIsAirborne theguardian.com/world/2021/j…

WILL they allow the ICJ to hear the case? No. Let's not be unrealistic. But will they just give the UAE the Islands if we demand it? Also no, AND we get ourselves mired in Middle East politics.

The proper foreign policy position for Canada IF we (unwisely) feel the need to get involved is not to determine ownership ourselves and beak about it - but to support the process laid out in international law and encourage/pressure Iran to have the ICJ hear the case.

I support Palestine Action and so do the people of the UK.
Anyone planning to attend a demonstration in support of Palestine Action in the vicinity of the US Embassy on Saturday, 31 October will face arrest as part of a robust policing operation. Expressing support for the group is an offence under the Terrorism Act following its proscription in June 2025, a decision upheld by the Court of Appeal in June 2026. How about the common issue that Israel is blowing up everything and everybody around it and tanking the global economy?

The Canadian Labour Congress, representing about 3 million workers, voted Thursday to refuse to handle weapons and military equipment destined for Israel and demanded Ottawa end all arms transfers. The congress said it backs the resolution in solidarity with Palestinian workers and their families. It demanded the Canadian government end all direct and indirect transfers of arms and military equipment to Israel. In May, it voted to cut ties with the Israeli trade union known as the Histadrut, though debate was blocked on declaring Israeli goods and services "Hot Cargo". Commercial data compiled by a volunteer team from the Palestinian Youth Movement, World Beyond War and Arms Embargo Now showed weapons and military shipments continued and were fast-tracked to Israel. Some moved by indirect routes, including through the US, despite Canada saying it paused all new weapons export permits to Israel. The 58-page report "Exposing Canadian Military Exports to Israel" cites more than 390 shipments from 21 Canadian manufacturers in six cities. The cargo includes more than 420,000 bullets, 735 cartridge parts, F-35 jet parts such as navigation sensors and radar systems, and GPS antennas. Global Affairs Canada says it exported more than $44m in military goods to Israel between 2023 and 2025. The groups said Ottawa wanted to placate an electorate unhappy with the Liberal Party's response to the war on Gaza without reversing its unconditional support for Israel. Labour for Palestine Canada said Canadian workers helped end apartheid in South Africa, supported East Timorese liberation and took a stand against the war in Iraq. Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East called the vote "an important way that workers can prevent Canadian weapons from facilitating genocide". Independent Jewish Voices said Canadian labourers refuse to be complicit in genocide in Gaza and the expansion of illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank. The Liberal government announced a pause for voters while 420,000 bullets and F-35 parts kept moving, so the policy existed only as a press line. Three million workers have now written the enforcement the Empire's junior supplier skipped, and the hands that handle the cargo hold the veto. qudsnen.com/share/68546 thecradle.co/articles/canada…

To the Prime Minister of Canada @MarkJCarney J 'Accuse Three years spent watching violence go unpunished can produce profound moral fatigue. The brain attempts to protect itself, oscillating between anger, grief, emotional numbing, and hypervigilance. After prolonged exposure to scenes of suffering without accountability, justice, or meaningful change, trust in institutions erodes. Such sustained exposure can amount to a deep moral injury, one whose psychological effects may endure long after the events themselves. Canada cannot remain this timid, this morally indifferent, in the face of so much suffering. Denounce the violations of the Gaza ceasefire. Send observers to assess the situation in the West Bank. Segregation? Apartheid? Damn it, do something.

Explosive admission! The head of the Mossad, David Barnea, admits that Israel used ordinary Iranians as tools to protect Mossad operatives in the country. Rarely will you find a more crude admission of how Israel deliberately and carelessly put thousands of people it claimed it sought to liberate in harm’s way: In June 2025, the Israeli spy agency deliberately published multiple videos in real time of its agents acting against in Iran to compel the Iranian government to arrest as many people as possible. “We wanted to make sure they arrested so many people in Iran that they wouldn’t be able to distinguish the wheat [the actual Mossad agents] from the chaff and would eventually release everyone,” he said. “You have to imagine that when you arrest 21,000 people, even if you’ve caught an agent or two, eventually you have to release them... the IRGC would have no way of knowing who was a real agent with such a vast number of detainees." Barnea added that many of those arrested or executed by the IRGC as “Mossad agents” had nothing to do with the agency. jpost.com/middle-east/iran-n…

So there we have it. Israel was behind the violent riots that were blamed on the Iranian government. What other Iran blamed incidents around the world have they been behind?

Iran has not attacked another nation in the Middle East in over 200 years. Israel has attacked every nation in the Middle East uninterrupted for the past 80 years. Yet mainstream media has convinced you that it’s Iran 🇮🇷 Are you dumb?

Many in Carney's Cabinet are morally bereft, but I feel strongly that this pairing is particularly dangerous - Carney and Anand. Their shared moral cowardness, religion-based racism, lack of geopolitical knowledge, and cool arrogance have led to a uniquely cruel Canadian govt.

In researching my new book, Requiem for Gaza, I discovered how Israel systematically targeted and killed the Palestinian professional class (such as doctors and journalists), an obvious genocidal tactic. This goal is symptomatic of Israel's larger vision for Gaza; to ethnically cleanse its population via genocide.

Ms. Rachel just delivered one of the most powerful statements on the genocide in Gaza "The system that protects children from being killed, violence, harm, starvation-it's not working. The UN Commission on the Rights of the Child-it's not working. I'm not going to sit back and be like, 'Oh, that's not my problem.' Sudan, Gaza, Congo, Haiti. How kids are being treated. I am not okay with it. 20,000 kids in Gaza killed. Massacres in Sudan. We know where the weapons are coming from. We know who's funding the genocides. So it's not working."

Last month Radwan Mortada exposed Israel’s pager attack, in Al Jazeera’s most watched film in recent history. 2 weeks ago Israeli troops looted his house and blew it up. This week they were caught bugging his phone for the 3rd time. This is how Israel responds to factual journalism:
Yesterday, I received a security notification from Apple warning me that my iPhone had been targeted by a sophisticated mercenary spyware attack, involving technology of the kind developed by companies such as NSO Group, the Israeli firm behind the notorious Pegasus spyware. Perhaps the most alarming aspect of Apple’s warning was its confirmation that such attacks target specific individuals “because of who you are or what you do.” This is not the first time I have been targeted by spyware. I was previously targeted with Pegasus in both 2017 and 2021. I do not yet know who is behind this latest attack, or whether it is connected to my investigative documentary, The Trap, which I directed and co-produced. The film, available on Al Jazeera 360, exposed the details of the September 2024 pager explosions in Lebanon. What is certain, however, is that the targeting of journalists with sophisticated spyware poses a grave threat to press freedom, the confidentiality of journalistic sources, and the very foundations of independent investigative journalism.

Hasan Piker banned from entering Britain. Sally Rooney unable to sell her books here. Now Andreas Malm barred from the country. All for speaking out against Israel’s genocide of the Palestinian people. This is Andy Burnham’s Britain. An authoritarian Labour government that continues to arm a genocide while criminalising those who dare to oppose it. Shame on them all.

I’d say, given the Australian involvement in an attack on an unarmed Iranian ship, the line that @criprights is rightly warning of, has already been crossed…
There is nothing being reported about this in Australia. Are we on the brink of another world war? We are much closer than most Australians realise. On 29 October, Associated Press reported that American officials have privately warned Middle Eastern governments to prepare for further US attacks on Iran after the American elections on 3 November. The US has moved around 9,000 additional troops and naval forces into the Persian Gulf. Iran is threatening retaliation, and fighting has already spread across the region. Meanwhile, Russia’s war against Ukraine continues, tensions with NATO are worsening, and China is increasing military pressure on Taiwan. Any one of these conflicts could escalate. Several escalating together is a frightening prospect. And Australia is already involved. We’ve deployed military surveillance aircraft and personnel to the Gulf and supplied missiles to the United Arab Emirates. By June, our Wedgetail aircraft had flown more than 40 missions helping Gulf countries detect Iranian missiles and drones. The Albanese government describes our involvement as defensive. But Australian military personnel are already operating in a war zone, and we have little idea how far our government is prepared to go. Here’s something Australians should be a shit load more concerned about. Our government can commit Australian forces to war without a vote in Parliament, because AUKUS. The decision can be made by a handful of ministers, with parliamentary debate coming afterwards. A wider war could devastate Australia’s economy, disrupt fuel and food supplies, and put Australian lives at risk, even without a single bomb falling on Australian soil. Yet we’re having remarkably little public discussion about any of this. We could find ourselves involved in another catastrophic American war without Australians ever having been asked whether we wanted to participate. And by the time Parliament gets around to debating it, our troops could already be fighting. Don’t buy all the toilet paper, guys:) Sources: Associated Press, 29 October 2026; Australian Department of Defence, 10 March and 4 June 2026; Australian Government memorandum on overseas armed conflict decision-making.
