AWKWARD SILENCE: NYC DAs have no answers when pressed over a new report alleging they reduced charges to protect illegal immigrants from deportation.
The new 22-page House Judiciary Committee report alleges the cityโs district attorneys used โimmigration-safeโ plea deals and instructed prosecutors to avoid certain convictions that could trigger deportation.
At a Manhattan press conference, a reporter presses three top New York officials about the practice. One DA shrugs before the event quickly moves on to other questions.

The Baton Rouge Police Department came by, took photos, and collected my statement. Unfortunately, the Marriott didnโt have security cameras covering the parking lot. There was a small camera near one of the doors, but it didnโt capture anything. In total, two brand new lawnmowers were stolen. These were two that were in there for two kids I had to visit in IA. A few books that arenโt damaged. Itโs unfortunate and frustrating, but thatโs life. Things happen, and we keep moving forward.

The Hockey Hall of Fame and its members are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Honoured Member Matt Pavelich.

Matt Pavelich dedicated more than three decades to officiating the game he loved, including 23 seasons as one of the most respected officials in National Hockey League history. Born into a hockey family - his older brother Marty was a four-time Stanley Cup champion with the Detroit Red Wings - Pavelich took a different route to the NHL. Graduating from officiating minor hockey games to minor professional games, by the time he was 22, he was called to make his NHL debut as a linesman in 1955-56. After 1,727 regular season games and 245 playoff games through 23 NHL seasons, Pavelich retired and was named the Leagueโs Supervisor of Officials. โจโจIn 1987, he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in the Referee/Linesman Category, becoming the first linesman to receive the honour.ย
The Hockey Hall of Fame organization and its members extend their heartfelt condolences to Mr. Pavelichโs family, friends and loved ones during this difficult time.
