#Bears Fans - Two Weeks Left Until the Deadline:
Lots of players left - two questions:
1. Who is the player or players YOU want the most?
2. What is the highest pick YOU would trade at the deadline?
We FINALLY have one. #Bears
Albert Breer asked 17 coaches/executives around the NFL who they’d pick between Caleb Williams and Drake Maye to build their franchise around. 18 won by a 12-5 margin. 👀
“You call a perfect D and still get beat, just like Josh [Allen] and [Patrick] Mahomes.”- NFL Asst. GM
“It’s Caleb; it wouldn’t really be close for me. More ability, keeps getting better, gives you a chance to win every game and he’s clutch.” - NFL OC

Source: The #Raiders are releasing DT Jonah Laulu.
The former Oklahoma star was a healthy scratch on Sunday, but was very productive last season — recording 8 TFLs and 4.5 sacks. His 86 tackles were the most-ever by a Raiders’ DL over the first 2 years.
The Bears are Super Bowl Contenders EVERY SINGLE YEAR that we have Ben Johnson & Caleb Williams.
You don't mortgage the future for ONE year, this team has an OPEN Super Bowl window that should REMAIN open for a LONG LONG TIME.
Yes I want Poles to make moves and improve the defense, but lets not mortgage the future to do so.
#Bears Fans - Two Weeks Left Until the Deadline:

You are 100% right. Poles and DA didn't really do much on the DLine this year.
But they finished the offense. Added some depth
1. Center of the Future.
2. Another Freak tight end that can block (Ben Needed)
3. Rebuild a majority of this secondary
Dillon Thieneman, Coby Bryant.
4. Fixed LB Position.
Devin Bush and D'Marco Jackson + Keyshaun Elliott.
5. Brought in guys Dennis Allen wanted for the DLine.
Neville Gallimore, Kentavious Street, James Lynch.
To Join the other guys DA liked: Dayo and Grady.
You are right, those guys have played snaps but haven't done much.
But DA believes in Dayo, and really wanted Shemar Turner.
You are right though, the defense needs more work.
We need to blame DA and Poles though and lets at least give em the two weeks until the deadline to see what they do.
If they stand pat, you are right again, we have every right to be mad.
I just don't understand why we are so mad that we didn't overpay for a player who wanted to go back HOME to the 49ers.
If everyone else gets traded and we miss out on all the defensive lineman, then its another story.
But its early, and only one guy got traded.
Also.
I don't think anyone of us expected JJ to play like this.
Maybe I am too optimistic but I thought if JJ returned to form this secondary could be the best in the league.
JJ, Coby, Thieneman, Kyler Gordon, Malik Muhammad.
If they add some pass rushers we are going to be one of the best rosters in the league.
So lets at least give the dude who put the REST of the roster together, another chance to build a DLine.
Thats my opinion. Maybe I am too optimistic, but I am not GASLIGHTING anyone or saying we need to shut up and relax.
Just think this team is in a special place, and I give Ryan Poles and Ben Johnson all the credit for that.
I think they are making decisions together, thats how Poles works.
I Trust The Process that got us here. If they don't fix the DLine or add a corner, I think we will all be frustrated but...
FINAL Point - Don't you think this team can WIN already? Wait until they draft DEs and CBs in rounds 1-3 the next 3+ years.
This offense + Our Safeties, linebackers and you add a bunch of young defensive lineman and corners.
Two positions that sometimes don't age well.
Lets also remember Austin Booker is only 23 YEARS OLD. The Bears believe in this dude.
Dayo was also playing some GOOD football this year before he got hurt. /rant
We ALL WANT THE RETURN OF THE MACK #Bears
According to @StevenIHaglund, The Chicago Bears have made serious inquiries around Chargers EDGE Khalil Mack.
Crazy to think the that Poles would get the guy back that he traded away to kick off The Bears 3-year rebuild when he first became the GM in '22.
🙏
We ALL just want to WIN.
We have been waiting for the team to be this good most of if not our entire lives as #Bears fans.
This team is special and they have time.
We want to give Ben Johnson & Caleb Williams as MANY opportunities to WIN as possible.
This. You think free agents will want to sign with you IF you don't trade WELL RESPECTED VETS where they WANT to play?
+ They leave in free agency.
Buckner wanted to go to the 49ers, period.
There are MORE players on the Trade Block and we are still TWO weeks from the deadline
As @79illwill & I have said.
Vets with respectable high end careers that are in their 30s generally want to go where they WANT TO & contend for a title.
Explaining how this team is in the BEST POSITION its been since 1984 is not:
"Gaslighting" or "Making excuses"
THE ENTIRE ROSTER IS LOADED - we have TWO needs on the ENTIRE TEAM - DL and CB.
Steve Smith knows more about WRs than most people on x/twitter.
Steve Smith Sr. DEFENDS Rome Odunze against fantasy football ‘Bust’ labels, explaining why the wide receiver is Essential to the Chicago Bears offense
“Without Rome, [Kalif] Raymond and [Luther] Burden lll just don’t become the type of players they are.”
"Rome is NOT a bust, and we need to stop throwing that word around just because someone doesn't live up to your exact expectations."
"Rome Odunze is a traditional, old-school wide receiver that people don't understand and respect until he's not there and then it's too late when he's gone."
"He's a starter who contributes heavily and makes this offense go”

Yes - this move made sense to almost EVERYONE.
From The Insiders on @nflnetwork: The #49ers trade for DeForest Buckner made too much sense.
