Following @HOFWorld2K announcement regarding the removal of TLNP Pirates from the competition and the reversal of our results, I want to clarify my position. I am completely against cheating. Whether it happens in competition, in practice, or while grinding rep, it is still cheating, and I do not condone any of it. The fact that the players involved were part of my team does not change my stance. Clips surfaced a week apart involving two players from our roster cheating while grinding rep. The first never played a single game for us. Regarding the second, no evidence of cheating during any of our competitive games or practice matches has been brought to my attention. That does not excuse their actions. But this distinction matters when the decision is to sanction an entire team and overturn its results. As a coach, I accept my responsibilities. However, I cannot monitor every player during every personal gaming session or know everything they do outside our team games. If HOF rule is that cheating, even outside competition, leads to the entire team’s removal and the reversal of its results, then that rule needs to be clear and applied to everyone, using the same criteria and the same standard of evidence. Other documented cases must therefore be investigated with the same scrutiny, whether they involve players cheating themselves or knowingly playing with cheaters. Comparable cases should receive comparable sanctions. Rumours are not enough, but evidence should not be ignored depending on which team is involved. Our team is particularly visible because both @BreakerTheBeast , our point guard, and I are content creators. That visibility should not mean making an example of us while comparable situations elsewhere go unaddressed. I am not asking for special treatment for my Team. I am asking for consistent and fair enforcement of the rules across the entire scene. Protecting competitive integrity requires that consistency. Finally, NBA 2K also needs to take responsibility. Truly effective detection and lasting enforcement against cheaters would prevent players, teams, and tournament organisers from being left to handle these situations on their own.
