A poignant moment. Yes a happy ending for Ireland with Stephen Roche, but terrible sad on this day. Sean remains a friend and getting better and better as a commentator. The toughest, hardest man ever to race a bike.

@PaulSherwen's family have now told me that the result of the post mortem was heart failure. Again, your tributes are very special, and thank you all. The outpouring of grief has simply never been so great for a cycling commentator. Love you all.

Always amazes me how many people spend hours on the side of the road waiting for @LeTour to pass. Even more amazing that when we finally get there many look the other way and wave at a helicopter or run off the other way chasing a thrown bottle

With an almost logic-defying vigour, the riders of the 2018 @rastailteann have resumed their tilt for a place in the record books. Stage Two is a particularly taxing 148.7km, between Athlone and Tipperary, and the Europcar fleet will follow the peloton every step of the way.
