The newsletter went out. The paid advert didn’t. Imagine paying $500 for a sponsored newsletter placement. The publisher clicks SEND, an oracle confirms delivery, and your smart contract releases payment. Except your advert was never included. The contract worked perfectly. The agreement wasn’t fulfilled. This is what makes @GenLayer’s Intelligent Contracts interesting to me. Written in Python, they can access the live web and use language models to evaluate evidence. Instead of trusting a delivery notification, the contract could inspect the published newsletter and determine whether the promised advert actually appeared. And one AI doesn’t get the final say. Multiple validators independently execute the contract using their own models. Disagreement triggers another round, and appeals allow further review. Bad evidence can still mislead validators, but the contract no longer has to blindly accept one external report. That’s the real distinction: verifying that something happened versus verifying that someone kept their promise. Now, here’s my $500 challenge to DeFi builders: Would you release payment when the newsletter is SENT, when the advert is VISIBLE, or only when readers CLICK?
