This morning we fall back for #DaylightSavingTime - Don’t forget to change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. The time you take to check your alarms today, could save a life. #Toronto #safety

We asked Toronto firefighters what scares them most on Halloween. From fire hall superstitions to real-life safety hazards, some things are scarier than any haunted house. #Toronto

Lithium Ion battery fires pose unique risks to our Firefighters. As the number of these fires rises, so do the risks. Our fire fighting professionals train, intensively, to the highest standards. Today we stand at 119 LIB fires in the @cityoftoronto

Toronto Fire is proud to support CAA’s Move Over, Slow Down campaign. Police, paramedics, firefighters, and other emergency vehicle operators work to keep us safe. Help keep them safe by slowing down and moving over when approaching stopped vehicles with flashing lights. @CAA

Moving in for school? Plan your way out. Before an emergency happens, know 2 ways out of every room, keep exits clear, and pick a meeting spot outside with roommates. Review your landlord’s fire safety info and practice your escape route. #Toronto #safety

Toronto Fire crews responded to a 3-alarm commercial fire overnight near McLevin Ave. Heavy smoke and flames were visible on arrival, and deteriorating structural conditions forced a transition to defensive operations. Fire suppression activities remain ongoing. #Toronto ^av

An improperly disposed of Lithium Ion Battery caught on fire, inside a garbage truck. This truck was driving on our city streets, and through our neighbourhoods only minutes before. Our total is now 83. #Toronto
