September is Suicide Prevention Month. We need to talk about student athletes suffering in silence because the person contributing to their trauma is the one coaching.
There is a dangerous line between tough coaching and abusive coaching. Tough coaching pushes athletes to work hard, learn discipline, and improve performance through clear and respectful feedback. It builds resilience because the foundation is rooted in mutual respect.
Abusive coaching, on the other hand, uses fear, insults, or physical harm without helping the athlete grow. It weaponizes power, leaving athletes isolated, anxious, and deeply depressed.
If you are a student-athlete struggling under the weight of depression or toxic coaching, please hear this: Your worth is not measured by your playing time, and your mental health matters more than any game. You are not weak for hurting, and you do not have to carry this alone.

Today, we took long-overdue action to restore science, accountability, and the rule of law.
In September 2023, the Biden FDA pushed a number of peptides into Category 2 — “Bulk Drug Substances that Raise Significant Safety Risks” — driving a dangerous black market that puts Americans at risk.
Now, after nominators withdrew 12 peptides, the FDA will remove them from Category 2 and will bring them to PCAC at its next two meetings, beginning in July—where independent experts will rigorously evaluate each substance on its scientific merits using full clinical, pharmacological, and safety evidence.
