Throughout America’s 250 years, our nation’s leaders have called our people together in prayer. Today, I invite all Tennesseans to join @MariaLeeTN and me as we pause to acknowledge our blessings and seek God's guidance for our state in the days ahead.

Some days in life can be summed up by a simple sentence. Others require chapters to tell; September 11, 2001 is one of them. Twenty-five years later, we remember the innocent lives lost, honor the heroes who answered the call, and give thanks for the courage and unity that emerged from our nation’s grief. @MariaLeeTN and I invite Tennesseans to join us in prayer for the families forever changed by this terror and observe moments of silence at the following times. May we never forget.

Rare is the one who climbs to the pinnacle of fame, then scoffs at its allure, only to retain the genuine humility that defines them. Dolly Parton was one of a kind, who loved people, her work, her family, and her Lord. Tennessee has forever been changed – enhanced – by her, and will never be quite the same without Dolly.
