The latest PISA report shows that the global decline in reading ability did not reverse as COVID school closures retreated into the past. If anything, it has sped up since 2022. The authors often point to digital tech as a possible contributor. For example, this figure shows that students from phone-free schools are less likely to be distracted by digital devices during class, compared to students in schools that don’t have a phone-free policy. The two worst policies involve placing the burden on teachers to set rules in their own classes. This is more evidence that phone free schools are better schools.

Through her Imagination Library Dolly Parton gifted 338 million books to children all around the world. What a woman and what a legacy she has left behind. ❤️
Our team, our local program partners, and every operational partner who helps make this program possible each month are heartbroken at the loss of our founder, Dolly Parton. (cont.)
