The Warriors are not delivering payments to Kristaps Porzingis on his $20 million salary, ruling that he is not rendering services, sources tell me and @anthonyVslater. Golden State is permitted to move his contract at any point before the Feb. 11 deadline even without paying him currently, and will continue exhausting trade avenues as the 31-year-old leans toward ending his NBA career. Absorbing Porzingis' near-expiring deal would allow a rival team to move a salary out and save money and clear a roster spot via a buyout.

Toronto Raptors center Jakob Poeltl has agreed on a four-year, $104 million contract extension with the franchise through 2029-30, sources tell ESPN. Poeltl will pick up his 2026-27 player option at $19.5M and add three additional years to his deal.

The work works.

Who gone rub ya boy feet?✋

Darko reiterated that there’s still no timetable for Kawhi. Too early to know for sure. He’s getting treatment outside of Toronto (presumably in California) and responding well so far, but they’ll have a clearer picture when he’s reevaluated next week.

More Darko on Poeltl: "4 games in, Jak is our starter. We're the No. 1 defence in the league at this time and he has a lot to do with that. Jak does so many things on the defensive end that help us tremendously and a lot of those things won't show up in the box score."
