This AI video shows a drill press, a rather old one, acting as the quill on a milling machine. Using a drill press in this manner would result in a bad cut, damaged equipment, and possible operator injury. Do not try to replicate this.

The Detroit Series 60. The engine that killed the Screaming Jimmy, and broke a lot of hearts.
By the mid-80s, Detroit was in trouble. The old two-strokes were on their way out, Cummins was eating their lunch, and Detroit was down to under 5 percent of the market.
So they did something nobody had done. They built a brand new engine from scratch and put a computer in charge of it.
The Series 60 was the first heavy-duty diesel with full electronic controls as standard. Overhead cam, drive by wire, and cruise control. Old timers swore it would never last.
A year later, Roger Penske teamed up with GM and took over Detroit Diesel. He didnāt invent the Series 60, but he sure knew what to do with it.
By 1993, Detroit went from 3 percent of the highway market to 33 percent.
They built it in 11.1, 12.7 and 14 liter, and the 12.7 was the one you saw everywhere. They built over a million of them before the DD15 took its place in 2011.
It saved Detroit. It just cost us the nostalgic scream to do it.
The computer everybody hated in 1987 is in every truck on the road today.
Funny how that works. š
Tell me what you guys thought of this engine. Were you fans? or just hated it because it replaced the old Jimmies?
Ha! Im pretty stoked with the effect of those lights in the willows behind the house.
