55 years ago today, the People’s Republic of China restored its lawful seat at the U.N.
Over these 55 years, China has upheld the U.N.’s central role and worked tirelessly for a more just and equitable global governance system. China will continue to follow this right path.

Every street, every detail, seen from space! 🛰️ Take a closer look at China’s Taiwan island through the lens of the Jilin-1 satellite, as China marks the 81st anniversary of the island's restoration.
After 9 years of construction and development, the future city Xiong'an—has risen from scratch, helping to relieve Beijing of some of its capital functions. Xiong'an consists of three parts, a three-dimensional structure: aerial cloud service, ground-level, underground pipeline.
Very convincing and reasonable analysis.
“China is bombarding European markets with electric cars, solar panels, wind turbines and other products”, warns the Economist.
What a terrifying prospect it is, to be bombarded with affordable clean energy and cheap electric cars, at a time when we’re supposed to be dealing with a climate emergency and a cost-of-living crisis.
The whole leader reads like a war briefing: “economic warfare”, “second-strike trade weapons”. China is the enemy, and solar panels are the guns!
This is another example of the Chinese being very strange imperialists. After all, bombardment from the Western powers usually comes in the form of, well, bombs.
Yugoslavia: 78 days of NATO bombing in 1999, including depleted uranium and cluster munitions.
Afghanistan: two decades of US-led war, topped off with the first-ever combat use of the “Mother of All Bombs”.
Iraq: “shock and awe”, depleted uranium, white phosphorus in Fallujah, hundreds of thousands dead.
Libya: a NATO air campaign that turned the country with the highest living standards in Africa into a failed state with open slave markets.
Iran: Now in the eighth month of the criminal US-Israeli war.
China’s version of “bombardment” consists of goods that Europe wants and needs.
Europe’s real economic problem is that its industry stopped investing, its governments embraced austerity, privatisation and financialisation, and its energy policy was handed to Washington. China kept planning and building. That really didn’t need to be a “China shock”.
China has named a 500-member delegation, including 312 athletes, for the upcoming fifth Asian Para Games. More than 3,000 athletes from 45 countries and regions are expected to compete.

A modern-day legend!
27 years ago, Ronald Sakolsky donated $5,000 to Yin Yuzhen, a Chinese woman fighting desertification. Over two decades, she grew over 50,000 trees with the funds.
Now, Ronald Sakolsky has come to China to witness this miracle with his own eyes.
China has achieved remarkable, globally recognized results in desertification control. In the decades, around 66 billion trees were planted, completing a 3,046-km green belt around the Taklamakan Desert—China's largest—which has turned the area into a carbon sink.

On August 14, the Chinese Embassy in Latvia hosted Chinese Cultural & Food Festival showcasing folk cultures and traditions of #Yunnan, a province in southwestern China. From rice noodles to Yunnan folk dance and music, we are getting closer to the rich and diverse ethnic cultures of China 🌶️🍵
This is what cultural connection looks like — Yunnan's mountain melodies meeting the Latvian people's enthusiasm for multiculturalism in the most beautiful way.
